Win it for Josh

Whether we win it or not will make zero difference to Josh Gordon and his hoped for recovery. If he couldn't get right to actually play on this team, then this is just virtue signalling.

The guys need to win it for themselves and each other.
We dont know what a ring will mean to Josh Gordon and it isn't up to us to decide what things are motivating the team to win. Gordon is still on the team. He played in 8 or 9 games I think and by all accounts was a good teammate and shared the team's goals. He was part of this year's journey to the Superbowl. I wish him well and it doesn't bother me in the least that the team is thinking of him.

Gronk left it all on the field and not Gordon. Win it for the guys who worked harder than everyone else.

Giving Gordon a ring is more than he deserves. It's easy to go out and get drunk or high and land in trouble, but the other NE players put the team first.

Gordon did not care and I won't be thinking about him either.

They won't win it for Josh, but for honor, for respect. Your honor, your kids' honor, your family's honor.

Oh yeah, he gets a ring for me. Just can't buy into the 'do it for Josh' mantra....

Going by the evidence we have in hand; namely social media posts by prominent members of the team, it seems that they (who are in a far better position to know the internal views of Josh than we are) don't share this opinion.

This position seems to be more just virtue signaling by the Moral Righteous/Law and Order/Drugs are bad mmmmkaaay crowd.

You really need to understand: addiction is a DISEASE, not a character flaw.

Agreed, and I hope my comment that was skeptical about a ring bringing him solace didn't seem callous. I just find it hard to imagine that's where his head is right now, but who knows?

He probably is gaining greater perspective day by day in recovery. I'm sure he'll appreciate getting a ring for what he contributed.

Has Josh’s suspension just been for weed? Pain killers?
