Some have speculated he might be traded. That universe.
Isn’t not a lock traditionally used to mean could be cut?

I don’t think that’s what he meant but I could be wrong. In no way do I think he is going to get cut.

I agree that no WORLD would Myers be cut.

Some are of the position that we need 4 WR's, if all are contributors. In that world, if all of the top 5 look good, one of those with no 2023 contract could be traded (Agholor or Myers).

I think Myers is our best WR until proven otherwise. A lot of question with all of our receivers, but at least we’ve got a lot of them! Some should make some improvement and lead to an okay unit…
Nah man, it's Bourne by a wide margin. Meyers is solid, but Bourne is way more explosive.

At the end of the day, I don’t give a sh*t were they “rank”, but rather the type of players they have, how they could match up against contending teams and what happens vs these contending teams.

The 2021 Pats were a front running team where they needed to control the game via run and have the defense keep them in the game. When the defense couldn’t hold, the offense was dead to rights majority of the time, which is why they were 3-7 vs teams above .500. I don’t care if they ranked 1st in PPG, they were not a good enough offense to respond after getting punched in the mouth.

This is why Bill traded for Parker and traded up in the 2nd round for Thornton. It’s not rocket science putting these two together that the passing game has to get better to contend.

And the 2014 Pats aren’t a good example as they were clearly the best team in the AFC, had a winning record vs teams above .500 and eventually won the Super Bowl.
You've made a critical mistake, you are treating andyjohnson like a rational human being, he is not.

Guessing that includes the TEs. What an embarrassing graphic for the Patriots.

Only embarrassing if you care what others' are thinking, which is a choice. I doubt the Patriots are that insecure.

There are 3 WR's who are locks to make the team. Myers isn't one of them.
I could see them trading him before week 1, if Nixon looks great in camp, for example, but I would be shocked if he was outright released during the final cutdown period. He has been too reliable and productive to give away for nothing. If only the growth was not stunted in year 1 because of his of his rookie-hating QB.

Plus, don’t dismiss his ability to throw the ball. While that may occur only 2-3 of times per season, trick plays like that can be the difference between winning and losing critical games, if executed well. Versatility comes in many different forms.

PS. *Meyers

For 2 days in mini-camp Tre Nixon looked way more explosive than Meyers too.
Yeah Nixon would be a huge benny and Thornton would be icing on an offensive cake if he could take the top off a bit and even get 600 yards with a 15 YPC or something around there.

I think the offense is going to pop off this year

Being a lock means certain to be on the roster. So, could be cut is not a lock, and neither is could be traded.

Meyers isn't going to be cut, he has value, he'd be traded.

Agholor could also be traded, anyone who doesn't have a contract next season is always a possibility and they could save some money here if Nixon and/or Thornton emerge in camp and preseason.

Alligator arms algohor will be cut or traded. My prediction for the overpaid jag.

Mac working out yesterday with Wilkerson down in Texas. I like Meyers, but really want Kristian to man the slot position.

I hope he’s been working hard on his hands to become consistent. He could be a serious weapon in the middle of the field.

A JAG dosent put up anywhere near the numbers Nelson has over his career and consistently as well. His contract (which was actually shown to be in line with other WRs) has nothing to do with it.

But I wouldn't expect an imbecile like you to know this.

I think that Wilkerson is destined for the Practice Squad. I just don't see him getting into the top 5 of the WR chart unless both Agholor and Meyers are traded.

Right now, ahead of him are: (not in order)
Bourne, Thornton, Agholor, Meyers, Parker,

Wilkerson would have to beat out:
Humphrey, Nixon, Harry, Perry and Montgomery

I just don't see him doing that.

His production here has been JAG. JAG, JAG, JAG. And alligator armed. I'd expect a slobbering sycophant like you to make excuses for him. And you did.
