So I don't blame BB for the pick, it just didn't work out. Even if Harry turned into a stud, there's a very large probability that Brady didn't stick around.Give Brady a couple of gluten-free avocado beers, and he’ll give you chapter and verse of his screwups.
Brady says, “If this is what Bill thinks is a first-round WR, count me out.”
And he was outta here.
How is this even possible?
I agree with you on every point but your last. Edelman was drafted because dude can play football, BB even said he had no idea what position he was going to play. I think it just happened that Edelman found his space as a WRSo you cherry picked a few WR's who worked out while ignoring the vast majority who didn't... got it.
The average NFL career lasts three years... that's a factual statement not an excuse.
Without bothering to look it up I'd bet the Patriots have drafted fewer WR's than just about any team in the NFL over the last twenty years.
Edelman was drafted to convert him to WR... they didn't draft him as a 5'11" QB... stop being intentionally obtuse.
He either earns a spot, or develops the Hellenic Flu.What is going to happen by keeping Thornton, who may not be ready to contribute much his first year? Answer. We have to sacrifice a receiver. I hope it’s not Myers. He EARNED it.
We can only keep so many.

Cool. Do you hang out with him often? Is Gisele there as well?Give Brady a couple of gluten-free avocado beers, and he’ll give you chapter and verse of his screwups.

Harry’s issue is not physical…you know that. BB can’t teach what is lacking between the ears.I wonder why BB wasn't able to develop Harry. It's not like he doesn't have the measurables to be a decent receiver, even average, but he's just piss poor. Just absurd.
Join the club of posters who think that the patriots are in trouble if our 2nd-4th rounders aren't difference makers as rookies. Of course, no one on Belichick's staff is a member of that club.
I'd say it's lack of work ethic by Harry. He still doesn't fully grasp the playbookI wonder why BB wasn't able to develop Harry. It's not like he doesn't have the measurables to be a decent receiver, even average, but he's just piss poor. Just absurd.
Do you think Bill took it as a personal challenge to coach him up, so he kept him here for 3 years (maybe 4)?Harry’s issue is not physical…you know that. BB can’t teach what is lacking between the ears.
As a coach you should be able to know that about a player in his first year, two tops. Bill must've said to himself, I'll be damned if I can't coach this kid up.I'd say it's lack of work ethic by Harry. He still doesn't fully grasp the playbook
a personal challenge? I don't think 3 years is unreasonable for a 1st round pick.Do you think Bill took it as a personal challenge to coach him up, so he kept him here for 3 years (maybe 4)?
Looking at their draft history recently, there's a strong correlation to this.More likely than not, if Bill's draft picks suck during their first year, then they're gonna suck every year too.
I mean, let's not kid ourselves, a good coach can tell if a player has "it" or not pretty quickly. We're talking about the goat coach here. It didn't take Bill 3 years to realize what is painfully obvious to every.single.person.in.the.world.a personal challenge? I don't think 3 years is unreasonable for a 1st round pick.
Yup. Either a player is going to be a significant contributer or not. This can be told immediately. If the answer is no, then he should be cut. Be serious!I mean, let's not kid ourselves, a good coach can tell if a player has "it" or not pretty quickly. We're talking about the goat coach here. Arizona moved on from Rosen (1-10 pick) in a heart beat. Replaced him with Murray within a year. I guess they weren't serious, but boy were they smart.Yup. After all, only posters can make such immediate determinations.
Yup, there are many poorly run organizations.Arizona moved on from Rosen (1-10 pick) in a heart beat. Replaced him with Murray within a year. I guess they weren't serious, but boy were they smart.
There's dozens of examples of unserious behavior by NFL FOs making such immediate determinations.
