Who will be the new OC?

That’s officially. We know that Patriot coaches are much more involved than their title would tell you.
Belichick is on record as saying judge could coach any position on the field.
If you can coach football players, changing position groups isn’t a big deal. When you work for bill belichick any knowledge gap about a particular position is filled by bbs knowledge.
What people do not realize is position coaches coach the players, and the HC coaches the coaches.
So why is Belichick so hung up about giving coaches titles? Is it because he doesn't want to pay them what they're worth, like he does with players?

He isn’t hung up on titles, you are. He has a process ti develop coaches which you evidently do not understand. Your lack of understanding it doesn’t make it wrong. It’s worked, why question it?
Please let’s not get into the moronic cheap with players argument.

Such a horrible risk to let Judge near our QB... or offense. We know BB is a creature of habit, and only comfortable with things/people he knows. But this is something he (should) knows - Judge just ran the worst offense in the league 2 years in a row. UGH!!

Also, I'm serious about Hoyer - he would make a better QB coach than any current option.
My only last hope is that Caley will call the plays. Please, BB, listen to Dante!

Yes.. It's such a risk to let a former college QB near our QB.. OH.. Wait.. We're letting Hoyer near him? You do know that Hoyer has said that he doesn't want to coach, right?

Maybe do a better background check on Judge before damning him..

This idea that BB is only comfortable with things/people he knows is complete and utter BS. I've shown the NUMEROUS times he brought in People for positions without having a previous working relationship.

Did you see the lack of talent on the Giants offense? Their O-line was a disaster that made the Pats O-line look like ALL-Century Players. The WR corps was a MASH unit using 11 different receivers. And they were forced to use 3 different QB last year because of injuries. How are the INJURIES on Judge?

Maybe he can teach McCorkle how to be a holder.

Have heard Hoyer has no interest in coaching. Don't know if that is true or not.
Let's see. Should I play somewhere for $1M as a #2 or #3 QB, or should I coach (longer hours and more work) for $50K a year. That's a tough one.

$50k + green balls Bill hands out when you do good.

Foxborough is the Only place where Hoyer would be considered a #2, and some teams I betcha would never consider him even a possible #3; so his potential market isn't so good that he shouldn't consider being QBs coach here.

The other consideration for the Pats is there's no restriction on how much time players can associate with each other, but there are restrictions with how much time they can spend with coaches.

The Pats need to upgrade the coaching situation. BB should not be a day to day coach of the O or D that's what Coordinators do. Mayo seems to be respected by the players. Steve B may be an up and coming Xs and Os guy but word is he's not a good communicator. Logically Mayo should be the DC and Steve a top lieutenant. There's an added benefit to Mayo as DC if he's hired away the Pats would get two 3rd rd comp picks since he's a minority.

They need to go outside for an OC Caley is well respected, but has never called a game. A vet like O'Brien who's had a relationship with Mac makes so much sense. As I recall his play calling was kind of iffy before, but he's been away in different systems and some of that no doubt rubbed off. Part of the role should be bringing both Mac and Caley along.

Right because he has only been employed as a 1 or 2 for about a dozen years and when we tried to sneak him through as a 3 he was snatched up immediately. Other than that, great post.

Obviously, he wouldn't be considered by most teams. Why do you think that relevant.

My point is that his agent would scour the league for a backup position, and would likely to find one. Even if not, he might take some time off rather than work for $50K or so.

I wouldn't be surprised to read that an NFL QBs coach, especially for a classy organization such as the NEP, is paid a little bit more than $50K...

Hmmm what do ya know...
