You invented a back stabbing caused by an invented reason. Great work!!!
MAYBE!!!!! Suspiciously, you left that part out of the the above quote. Wonder why? Raises it to speculation which is how it was meant you insipid hero worshipping tool.

I didn’t leave out anything, I quoted your full post.

Thanks for showing you know your post sucked by throwing an ad hominem insult. You do that a lot.

I love how folks say McDaniels is stabbing us in the back, when the man stabbed the Colts in the back by leaving them high and dry for us - a very "loyal" move for someone who wants to become an HC. It could've led to the rest of the league not trusting him.

He gave us a lot, and that's really all I can ask for.

I wish they'd announce who's next!

Those rankings are overrated. You could clearly see the Pats were overachieving on the field. They are weak on the D-line and their LB's are atrocious. Secondary got roasted by teams that could actually throw the ball. They have a lot to address on that side of the ball this offseason.
Yuip, you can consider stats important.

Or, you can think that it doesn't matter how many points you allow, and rely instead on your own personal opinion.

The advantage of personal opinion is that it can never be wrong.

But how long has it been since that's really happened? And by that I mean they're truly calling the plays, not a Brady situation where he gets a playcall from an OC but then has full autonomy to change out of it depending on what he sees. Player coaches used to be a more common thing in sports, but it really hasn't been that way for many, many years.
To say many, many is not true.
the last one we know 100% was paymeaton. There could be others, but unlikely.

the trap of calling own plays is that the guy under the direct mental stress doesn’t see the big picture, hadn’t the time to think 4 plays ahead, and just flat out gets predictable.

but this idea started w the assumption ‚.Mac Is hurt and Hoyer had to come in‘. You are already starting from an anomalous situation that may be unlikely. So I think that risk is maybe worth it.

i think the idea of qb2 calling plays is pretty ingenious. The more I ponder (at least w Hoyer in the discussion), the more I like it. Kudos.

but I seriously doubt it would ever happen. I think Hoyer only has 50% odds to be ‚offered‘ a new contract, let alone sign it.

Argument 1: The coaches suked as evidenced by the bad D.

Fact2: D had good stats.

Argument 3: Those stats are meaningless cause the players suked.

My question: If all above 3 are logically true‘; must it not be true that the coaches must have been very good; ,,,, good enough to make up for the suky players! ?

I think you might be underestimating how much time a playcaller might spend during the week preparing JUST to call plays. You only have 40 seconds between plays, you want probably 20 by the time the QB gets to the line to make pre-snap adjustments, and the QB needs 5 seconds or so to relay the playcall to everyone in the huddle. So as an OC, you have 15 seconds to take the situation, assess it, make a decision and send the call to the QB. That's not something you just do off the cuff, you've got your playsheet and you've probably spent a good chunk of the week going through the scenarios in your head so (outside of some special circumstances) you already know what you're going to call on 3rd and 2 from between the opponents 40-50 yards line, etc. I want my backup QB focusing on getting ready to play if need be, not on all that.

I don't know this for sure, but did Peyton actually CALL his own plays, or did he get a call from the sideline and then have very generous authority to change and adjust pre-snap? Again, I'm not saying he didn't, I just don't remember hearing that.

Don’t know about Denver; although he brought the O w him, so…?

but pretty confident in Doltland he called them. I think the O coordinator helped develop the tendencies to attack during the week (that type work u talk about) and maybe gave him reminders over headphones before play …. But half manning‘s game was calling audibles until he saw the D commit. Then he called the actual final play by audible/sign to take advantage of the D alignment.

i think more the reason you don’t see so much anymore is you need a Smart Control-freak qb and there just aren’t so many of those to go around. I don’t think O is so much more complicated than 20 years ago ; different yes-more complicated no.

“There’s just a presumption that it will eventually be Bill O’Brien,” Curran said. “I don’t know how well-founded that is. I think over the course of time there’s plenty of people in the media who have gotten close to Bill O’Brien during his time in Houston and during his time in Alabama, and some of those folks who I think might be piped in to Bill better than I am have indicated, ‘Don’t panic yet.’”

“It’s the best case scenario: Bill O’Brien comes back here,” Curran said. “I would say folks could probably let out a sigh of relief. But until it’s done, it’s not. We don’t even have smoke, much less fire.”

He could of not even brought it up.
But he specifically went in about how Bill hasn’t missed a beat turning 70.
I think that is accurate.
Bill is on the BB70 Plan.

We don't even know whom the Pats will draft, which free agents they will sign, and the final makeup of the coaching staff, let alone what the progress of the rookies in their second season will be. A bit too early for pessimism.
Oh ye of little faith! This IS PatsFans!!

Derek Dooley is joining the Alabama staff as an offensive assistant. He's been a head coach, an offensive coordinator and worked with Saban before. Is this the precursor to Obrien coming to New England?

I think it could be.
I don’t think Obrein leaves without a capable replacement in place.
This could be it.

Oh boy. This is going to be fun.

Patricia calling the offense...

Oh boy. This is going to be fun.

Wonder what the odds are that neither Caley nor Judge has either played or coached the position ever before... anywhere... in his life...

Thats pretty fire news! Cant wait too see who they look for
