Who will be the new OC?

Well I expected Lombardi to be “the guy” but I guess I was dead wrong on that one. Honestly not sure at this point.
Caley or judge will probably be defacto OC.
Troy Brown will be a position coach, probably taking lombardis spot.
I’m not worried about who is “OC” because it will be a group game planning effort, but my concern is who works with Mac. This could be a 2001 setup where BB is essentially the QB coach.

While I'm not thrilled with all of the defections, this maybe, possibly...could be a good thing. Bill is now working towards his third decade with the team, and having new blood could help him assimilate some new concepts/ideas on how to keep up with some of the newer innovators in the league, much like how the rest of the league has drawn inspiration from Bill over all of these years. Even Judge and possibly O'Brien could bring in fresh concepts after viewing the Patriots from a competitor's lens.

At least these are the thoughts that will get me through this agonizingly long period leading up to training camp.
I don’t think any one is doing anything that belichick doesn’t know about.

Guess we were right that Lombardi was the guy being groomed. Guess JMD was higher on him than BB.

JMD is showing how much of a POS he is. The Patriots organization, Bob Kraft and BB have given him his career, a hefty paycheck, and security. Now he stabs them in the back.
Maybe, they stabbed him in the back by breaking their promise to McDaniels to eventually succeed Belichick?

Nothing better than a 70 year old coach having to revamp his entire roster and coaching staff in two years.

Old Captain Bill is captaining the SS Patriots right to the bottom of the bay. Can’t blame people from abandoning ship. Right now I’m extremely glad Belichick is an only child or else there would be nephews all over the coaching staff. Wonder if Linda has any siblings?

Let’s see if he remains stubborn and arrogant enough to try to coach every position himself. I know Bob and Jon desperately want this relationship to end amicably unlike their relationship with Brady. But, if this continues, they’ve got to step in and tell Bill to clean out his office. Perhaps, they’re too afraid Bill’s Bully Boyz will lead a pitchfork assault on Patriot Place if they do.

You invented a back stabbing caused by an invented reason. Great work!!!

So Judge was the WR coach in 2019 - the worst offensive output in the Brady era since 2006 with Caldwell & Gabriel. So, not sure if it was because of the roster, or if he had a hand in ruining N'keal, Dorsett, Sanu, Gordon... I guess we'll see.
There was some other guy playing Wide Receiver that year who had his best year as a pro, that you conveniently seemed to forget… Julian Edelman.

Have they? They've mostly drawn inspiration from Shanahan.

This is what a multi year rebuild looks like. I am not sure why folks are surprised. When Brady walked out the door, the dynasty went with him. Now we have to see if the 70 year old GM/HC can revamp this staff with fresh blood to compete in the AFC.

It's like we are having a new coach now on offensive side and I am not sure how bill calls offensive plays . He always had studs as offensive coordinators .

I don't think you can run a team with a committee group that has never called plays before .

The team could be decent but with not much of a offensive game plan and adjustments how do we compete ?

Yes. We have survived before but we always had continuity and not something like this . So many people leaving pats implies there is a strong defection sentiment in pats office. Nepotism ... Possibly the root cause...

Hope we don't lose Mayo.

Anyone interested in this dude? KC's scheme is a morphed WCO (more shotgun and spread looks) than a classic WCO and adjusted to be opponent-specific.

If he a different voice in the room? Yes? Bring him in.

Can't believe how disrespectful JMD is being right off the bat. Totally stripping the Patriots of 4 offensive coaches, including himself! That's low. That's a lot of consistency gone. And all we get in return is freaking Joe Judge!? whose not even an offensive coach.
This year is going to be bad. BB is going to either burn out or be overmatched trying to carry the O & D.
Yes, it it horribly disrespectful for Josh to give Lombardi a promotion to OC.

Lombardi should have refused a promotion out of respect. Our coaches shouldn't accept promotions.

What a bunch of crap.
