Who will be the new OC?

Wherever someone needs somebody who had ZERO experience coaching TEs before Billy gave him the job here... or Las Vegas.

Caley's just another fuc-king John Carroll Slappy... He shouldn't be missed if Bill really wanted to hire experienced, professional NFL ass-istant coaches, and not the connected toadies littering his skeleton crew now...
It’s more about the lack of coaches.
Our staff is getting dangerously thin.

Most of us were commenting during the season that Bill seemed really checked out letting his assistants run the show. I wonder if this exodus is happening because something is up and folks know it around the league.

Something was definitely up reading Slater's and McCourty's comments throughout the season, but I thought it was on the D side of the ball. I never got the impression there was anything going on the O side.

Bill was checked out? I don't remember anyone saying that.

Our coaches are leaving for greener pastures. This is going to be a multi year rebuild so now is the time to jump for a better opportunity especially if a promotion is part of the deal.
Why is an ulterior motive needed when the promotion alone easily validates somebody leaving?

I think there are similarities between roster dynamics and coaches dynamics we have seen in recent years. On the field we were used to BB having the next guy ready when he was willing to move on from the veteran guy, very often because the guy was almost done and BB wanted to capitalize on draft picks or save money. It is not happening anymore - ora at least almost anymore (or a lot less, if you do not like hyperboles). Old school BB would have never brought back Collins for the third time or waited for Edelman to fall apart on the filed, for example. On the coaching staff it is somewhat similar, I think. Maybe BB was surprised by a lot of guys leaving at the same time (maybe the little-big-Belichick-family-coaching-together-how-nice-of-a-story-it-is has something to do with that ... ) Anyway, something looks broken...

That's because they'd all be laughing at him. Little Steven needs a black buffer/translator to deal with the players. What a joke this team has become, rife with nepotism.
well I don't like little steve, I'm still a pats fan.. i see a lot of people who should become fans of another team. Call this team a joke is a JOKE..

Someone is going to need to replace Bill in the next 5 years max.
Wouldn’t coaches want to stay around and get that chance.

Yea, don't recall anyone saying that either. Some said he was relying on his assistants a lot more which is entirely plausible. That doesn't mean he was checked out.

Mac saying the team lacked energy and was feeling bad for itself during the bye week was a real eye opener to what may have been going on. What exactly it was? Not sure.

Checked out is probably a bit harsh but definitely noticeably different from other years. Do you ever remember seeing him on the sidelines talking up the defense when the O was on the field like he did in previous years?

Yea, I believe I did see him doing that.

Can you cite any games? I may be mistaken but I don't recall any. Maybe the Tampa game?
Maybe that one. Definitely one or 2 of the Buffalo ones. Even if they didn't show it, doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Yea i'll buy that but checked out is a gross, factually incorrect mischaracterization.

Looks like no BOB ...

Wonder if bringing Judge back on the offensive side is a reason for Caley rumors of departing.

“I think it’s possible that this may be it on the offensive side of the ball. I feel like it might be Judge with some added responsibility, Nick Caley with some added responsibility, Mick Lombardi with some added responsibility, and kind of do it all as a group and make a decision on an OC potentially next year.”

All the respect in the world for BB - but the idea that he will be more involved in the offensive plays?? I don't know. I think we need something from the innovative offenses we're seeing around the league. I know that all our early offenses were largely Bill's scheme, but down to down play-calling is a different thing than scheming. Who's going to call plays?? I'm more and more terrified it's going to end up Judge.

So Judge was the WR coach in 2019 - the worst offensive output in the Brady era since 2006 with Caldwell & Gabriel. So, not sure if it was because of the roster, or if he had a hand in ruining N'keal, Dorsett, Sanu, Gordon... I guess we'll see.

Because the coordinator by committee approach is working so well for the defense. What a joke.
