Who will be the new OC?

I wonder if Judge teams with Troy Brown?

It also seems that BoB wants to stay at Bama.

"Judge had one season coaching receivers in the NFL, but also came from the same college program as Jones. Judge worked under Nick Saban as Alabama's special teams assistant (2009-2011). Adding an experienced coach like Judge to the mix next season, on the offensive side of the ball, makes sense. The more eyes the better."

"According to NBC Sports Boston, had McDaniels left the Patriots in 2018 to become the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, there was a chance that Judge would've replaced him as the Patriots offensive coordinator. Considering Judge never coached on that side of the ball or called offensive plays, it would’ve been a radical idea from Belichick."

"With Judge returning to the Patriots on the offensive side of the ball, that should give Achord a boost of confidence. The Patriots special teams unit actually finished first in Gosselin's team rankings back in 2020, which was Achord's first season as the head special teams coach."

Let's tone down the outrage here. As I stated, he isn't my first choice, but to act like he doesn't make any sense at all is taking it to a illogical extreme. Who said he got a pass? He got fired. Buck always stops with the head coach. But there are dozens of examples of guys that make good coordinators but lousy head coaches. They're two different skillsets.

Call them excuses if you want. I call it not blaming one guy 100% for a group of players who weren't that good (and the ones who WERE good, played well, like Edelman). And what are you hoping for exactly? Because Judge hasn't been named the OC yet, so "hope you're right" is A) premature and B) assumes that (again) I've been banging a "Joe Judge is my #1 guy" kind of drum.

I think you would benefit from some nuance in your thinking. Not railing a guy doesn't mean I think he's the best of the best. There's a tiny bit of room in between where actual discussion can live.
Too late. You can't hide from your strong support of Judge. I'm blaming you if the offense takes a step back because of your darling Joe Judge is the assistant OC. It's on you pal.

A lot of you are going to really miss McDaniels this season. You don’t know what ya got til it’s gone.

So many speculations that Judge might take play-calling duties!?
I mean, from the same people saying Giants hired Daboll to "FIX" Daniel Jones after this Judge disaster.
Why on earth would BB have Judge come ruin another young Jones with something he has no business doing?
If this happens, and they don't name a true OC to lead, I might really have to turn in my BB membership card.
Because shared, unnamed leadership worked so well for the D this year! This could be very bad.

it's there any reason NOT to name an official OC other than for Krafty to save a few nickels and dimes????? makes no sense at all
Or maybe so Coach Bill can give one of his kids or Lombardi's kid OC responsibility and avoid the hit when the kid sucks

Avoid having to go through the interview process. If he's hired as the OC I believe there would have to be a whole process (think Rooney Rule)

Exactly, that's why I said not naming an OC at all is a nightmare scenario

I read that I

avoiding the Rooney rule?
So he doesn’t have to interview coaches he has no intention on hiring.
I mean teams like the Patriots have a next man up for any situation.
They must feel like it’s incredibly wasteful to interview someone when they have the contingency plan ready to go.
Is my only thought.
Bill doesn’t care or see race I’m sure like I would hope all of us.
However wasting someone’s time is something I’m sure Bill has no interest in.

I dont feel good about what is being done with the coaching staff

Boy that’s the kettle calling the pot black. And, we all know how you feel about black.
Oh aren’t you the liberal. Don’t like what someone says so you call them a name. Thanks for proving you are a moron.

I feel very nervous about going without an actual OC and DC. BB needs to put his trust in 2 coaches and just let them do the job.
