Who will be the new OC?

You have a record. It's not like I didn't read any of the Flores thread. And here you are telling me about how years of experience as a grad assistant means something. You call it coaching above? Nonsense. This is a clear attempt in this thread o diminish Mayo when all I said was he was at the same stage in his career as Vrabel and Patricia were when they became DCs. It's just ridiculous beyond belief AND THERE IS A PATTERN with you.
Here's Mayo's bio from patriots.com: 11 years experience. They must be giving him credit for his playing time.

IMO I think O'Brien is waiting to see if he gets HC interviews...but not many opportunities left...if any. I think that is the wait...otherwise it's him for OC. I think if it was Gase or O'Shea it would have already happened. If it's internal...nothing will happen.

What head coach job is left?
New Orleans is the last one left in the NFL.
Are we talking college?
What good Jobs are available yet?

College is now a crazy game with the NILs. Some SEC HCs last week were complaining about the impossibility of coaching now. You can't offer kids playing time anymore when boosters and used car salesman are plying them with dollars. So, Alabama already got the best players while Mississippi got scraps, but now Alabama gets all the best players and Mississippi's scraps.

Does BOB really want to return to this mine field? It's not like it was when he left college football as an HC.

Patriots need to start interviews before they can even begin to hire anyone.
The longer it goes silent the more I’m thinking Caley without the title.

A pattern of what?

I am telling you that you made a post saying Mayo is as prepared to be a coordinator because he was a position coach for 3 years and Patricia was for 4, and I pointed out that Patricia was a coach with the patriots for 8 years and in the coaching profession for 14.
It was a clear attempt to show you leave out facts, and post misleading BS.
My issue was with how you posted not who you posted about.
Of course you know that and have proven you will never, ever admit when you are wrong ( buffalo fans don’t by concessions but the lines are always long, and when you quote a post it means you are referring to a different one, for example) so you find race in the post to accuse me of being racist thinking it will diminish the point you were wrong about since you can’t discuss it fairly and honestly.

Yes it is ridiculous to to think that a human being who has been in the coaching profession 11 years, including 5 on the current team is no further along than a player who decides to take up coaching after a few years off. But, you know that.

Patricia was a grad assistant as late as 2003.

There is no way being a grad assistant mostly at the D3 level counts as much as a guy running defense and basically living with the coaches all year round studying film. No one else studied as much as Mayo. You're diminishing Mayo hugely by saying Patricia's years as a grad assistant somehow count for MORE.

I started out saying that Mayo is at the same point in his career as Vrabel and Patricia were. What you claimed was so preposterous that coming off your posts in that Flores thread, the conclusion was obvious.

There is nothing wrong with my posts in the Flores thread.

You keep creating strawmen because you refuse to admit you are wrong.

When did I say what “counted as much” as anything else?
I said you left out many years of coaching experience.

I will refresh your memory. This was my post
Patricia had been on the staff 8 years and a football coach for 14.
Please explain what is racist about that, how it diminishes Mayo, how it is PREPOSTEROUS, and how it says that being a graduate assistant counts more than being a player.
I’ll wait. Then you can apologize.

The only person that's owed an apology is your mother for having such a dumb mfer for a son.

Why the heck would I apologize? You've said a bunch of things in the last week, I have you clearly pinned. It's obvious how you come to your conclusions on these coaches.

Of all the BS in this thread about Mayo's credentials, you guys take the cake. From claims of the guy never playing special teams, to Vrabel having it over him because he played TE a couple times, to grad assistant years counting more than Mayo's playing years, the extraordinary lengths you go to to diminish Mayo's experience, the conclusion is obvious.

I don't have any issues with Mayo as a candidate, but I don't see how you can be certain that Ring is a racist by what he's posted, although it's possible I missed the smoking gun as I didn't read the other thread. For someone who repeatedly labels someone else as racist you sure seem comfortable at making assumptions and judging a poster by what you perceive to be his cover.

Instead of paraphrasing and then screaming racism perhaps direct quote exactly what you deem to be racist, and report it to a mod.

And for what it's worth, it's entirely possible to think Mayo isn't as qualified as his white counterparts and not be a racist.

I did a double take a few days ago when it said Troy Brown has 18 years experience on the Patriots coaching staff page.

BOB is still the most logical choice for OC but, if both he and BB want it to happen, why hasn't it happened yet?

Troy Brown is my favorite Pats player of all time, and I go back to the beginning. He was so under-rated it was remarkable. Incredibly clutch player. He had a way of making NYFL defenders miss too. He was no Edelman in that regard but he was close. And he played defense too.

You avatar is perfect. Bingo!

That would be interesting.

Could be problematic, though. I don't know if the Cheeves system is similar to New England's, but Mac needs continuity.

I was wondering this could somebody explain the real differences between the offensive philosophies.

Todays NFL is mostly a air it out game, so what would changing the offensive philosophy or combining principles from 2 different offenses what pros and or cons could that create?
