Who will be the new OC?

Well cherry picking rarely leads to fair analysis.
Exactly. If one can ignore Mayo's entire playing career, then perhaps we can cherry pick and put him back at the entry level positions for 24 year olds. But Belichick thought otherwise.

Playing isn’t coaching. You left out 10 years of experience because it didn’t suit your argument.

You people are total jokes.

We have a guy here who LIVES at Foxboro in the offseason as a player breaking down film at the highest level, and you're telling me I should include someone's experience as a graduate student assistant at RPI to that?

What's going on here is Mayo is black and Patricia is white which is why you want to count Patricia's 10 years of experience prior to his being a position coach, even though 5 of those years were at colleges like RPI and Syracuse when he was just a grad assistant.

That has more purchase for you than a guy who the rest of the Patriots knew as Jerod Belichick back when he was a player.

It's a total joke.

Probably not best to interject race into something that shouldn't be race based, and didn't seem to be race based to me.

Most of us have almost no idea how good these coaches are, how intelligent they are, how well they work with players. You are relying on media snippets quoting coaches who try and give the media as little information as possible. Arguing over how great a coach someone is, when you have no information at all about how good a coach is seems pretty dumb to me.

So you screw up and compare a 14 year career as a coach to a 3 year career as a coach and you call me racist.
You are despicable.

The discussion wasn’t even about how good coaches they are it’s about their experience as coaches. But when you can’t admit you were you were wrong, call the other guy a name.

I knew the over the top ballwashing and teeth gnashing just didn't seem like a conversation about preferred talents. There it is. The conversation ender. You are wrong btw.

14 year coach. Coffee getter more impressive than living, studying, breathing, under Belichick for a decade. LOL. The guy was a graduate assistant at Syracuse as late as 2003, but you're going to give him credit for 8 years prior to that. Laughable. And I'm despicable? I think I got it EXACTLY right.

You can stick with the impressive skills at getting coffee.
I'll stick with the guy studying under Belichick

I'm happy that at this point that no one has poached Mayo, but never underestimate the power of coffee. His, or anyone else's career is not my concern. I'm a PATs Homer without shame.

When did I say more important? I didn’t.
You cherry picked data and I pointed that out.
Coaching and playing are different.
You are despicable because you run around calling someone you don’t know a racist because they point out your error.
Nothing I said had anything to do with race.

Wow.

So you think that Matt Patricia rise through the coaching ranks to SB winning DC by getting coffee.
I guess this is kind of like how you won’t admit that when you quote a post, it indicates that is the one you sent referring to huh?

You have a record. It's not like I didn't read any of the Flores thread. And here you are telling me about how years of experience as a grad assistant means something. You call it coaching above? Nonsense. This is a clear attempt in this thread o diminish Mayo when all I said was he was at the same stage in his career as Vrabel and Patricia were when they became DCs. It's just ridiculous beyond belief AND THERE IS A PATTERN with you.

What are you even talking about?

He spent years as a graduate student assistant.

It's his resume.

That's what he was doing.

When was O Brien ruled out????? I just heard Saban deliver a Belichick-esque "I have no idea what your talking about OBrien is our OC" response.

I would expect no less from Saban.
He and BB aren't into propping up reporters with scoops. If BB is even talking to O'B it wouldn't come from Saban's lips.

We aren't in agreement so you and maybe others that you speak for are dubious. I'm sharing an opinion, not starting a club and I wouldn't even tell you I was a season ticket holder, but you had to ask if I even saw Mayo play. HAHAHAHA. Enjoy the probowl and hopefully we can have fun digging for draft insight.

The problem, which you have ignored, is that you've made statements that aren't factually accurate. Such as that Mayo didn't play on Special Teams. So, to claim that you are "sharing an opinion" when you state that is ridiculous. Just like 90% of the rest of your argument.

Okay ..I was wrong on that. Could be wrong on most of it, but I doubt it. DMac has stated in TV interviews that they all have to study and know ALL of the defensive assignments. Whatever. I don't even want to weigh in on it anymore TBH. The personal attacks make you SEEM like a punk.
