Easy there I'm not getting paid for this....I meant "isn't"

If I was there would be no mistake, it's an honest mistake.

Shaun Ellis, Mike Wright, Marcus Cannon, and Brandon Spikes.

Do NOT want to lose Spikes. Wright would be a "loss" under normal circumstances, but there are so many DLs in Foxborough now...

Here's who I want on injured reserve...

Either Smith or Yeatman. (Sorry OTG!!!) Neither would make the PS. The Jets for one have deplorable TE depth. Whoever doesn't win the job may need to 'tweak' something before the season starts.

Faulk PUP, Cannon PUP, no need to IR anyone on PUP until it's necessary, including Brace, Deadrick, Ellis...

Not that this means anything but BB was sounding like the guys not practicing were all pretty close. If a guy is going on IR it usually happens fairly soon after the injury so they aren't taking roster space. I don't think any of our current walking wounded fit that bill.

What makes you think any of this guys are ready to miss the whole year ?

This year, even more so than other years, given the very short off-season I'd expect to see rookies who aren't ready to perform and who won't make it to the practice squad to find themselves stockpiled on IR or PUP for a time

I think most of the players in that category would realize it could well be in their best interest too, especially if they've got guaranteed money

I think Spikes would be a semi-major loss because it means more wear and tear on Mayo during the season if he has to play full-time SILB.

I disagree, Spikes is slow and can't cover anyone out of the backfield. I believe we are set with Mayo, Guyton and Fletcher. I concur it may be more wear and tear on mayo, but he is young and we could go to a 4-3 and not miss Spikes at all.

I think Wendell is hurt badly ... but who knows, nothing comes out of foxboro on the injury status. The way they went out and gota back up center so fast indicated to me that Wendell is a candidate for IR.

I think any player hurt seriously enough to be put on the IR would be there already. I don't think the Pats waste time or roster spots waiting on players with serious injuries typically. They place them on the IR and bring in players who can contribute. this year might be different with the expanded rosters.

i understand the idea of IR, but i cannot imagine vereen, dowling and spikes are candidates for the IR this early in the game. that seems way too immature....are there any facts to support this ? it seems pure speculation

Speculation based on what we know is what we do on this board.

It is certainly not too early to discuss who might make the 53 man roster, who might be on the PUP list, who might be on IR and who might be waived. The final cut is less than 3 weeks away.

There are lots of conclusions to be made after discussing injuries and the possibilities. For example, it now seems to ME that Pryor is almost a lock to make the team. After all, Wright is injured; and Ellis, Deaderick and Brace haven't even practiced once. And just BTW, Pryor has been looking pretty good on the field.

If Wendell is seriously injured, then either Ohrnberger is a lock or we should be looking harder for a free agent backup interior lineman.

Yes, I agree that Pryor's chances are a lot better than many here think, and that he will receive another fair opportunity to make the squad.

I doubt there is any serious issue with Spikes, inference from some of his tweets tells me he is alright.

Vereen has a hamstring injury.

Everything about the circumstances of Vereen's injury suggests a pulled hammy of the Carl Crawford persuasion. I imagine he'll be back in a few weeks.
