Who is your "throw the remote, WTF!" pick

My wtf pick would be someone like Mankins, who no one was even considering drafting in the first round. I would be outraged, of course, until I saw him play and realize yet again that the Patriots draft board is unlike any other in the NFL and nearly impossible to predict. I love/hate when they make me look stupid like that.:enranged::violent::violent::violent:

I think if we do that, it could be Max Unger - C/G - Oregon. I don't
think he's a reach at all. But, it would piss off 3/4 of the board.

Would anyone be upset by Jared Cook at #23?

Laurinaitis - can you say overated
Matthews - story but don't see it
Cushing - USC was a great team D not a major play maker
Malaugua - same as Cushing
Harvin - Florida wide reciver under sized injury- prone
Any RB - after siging talyor, and laurance coming back plus sammy and faulk don't see it

honestly? i will prob get crucified for this but barwin at 23 i would be a little cut i know everyone here loves him i just think its incredibly risky for a 1 yr starter in ur 1st round. 2nd round i am fine with just not 23

I totally agree with you, I am not impressed with Barwin.
That outta take the heat off ya!

Well, just to correct a false impression - he's a two year starter.

A 2 year starter on defence? Which is what we would be drafting him as. Playing tight end is nice but all that matters is him as a defender. And I think 23 would be 2 early for that risk but I hope he proves me wrong

Ah, you hadn't specified. It does make things a bit more challenging to project him then...but isn't the fact he has proven capable of adjusting to change and will work hard at it a positive sign? Not like that kid they drafted in 2006 from Florida who made no effort to work at the transition.

...and then after he was cut, complained that he had expected the team to give him at least one year to prove himself? Ah, memories.

While I acknowledge that Barwin is risky and unproven, I think it's a mistake to say that his fan club is simply getting carried away by raw athleticism. If it were just the body we were after, we'd be dreaming Michael Johnson dreams.

For me it depends who's left on the boards

If, for example, Beatty is left at 23 and so is Barwin, English, Matthews etc I hope we take Beatty and grab one of the others in the 2nd (to me they are much of a muchness although there seems to a lot of man love for Barwin)

Ditto, Maulauga

I also hope we get at least one of Delmas and/or Chung to be a long term safety behind the likes of Harrison, Springs etc

I know not many are talking about him anymore, but Knowshon Moreno. I'd hate to draft a running back before Day Two, especially after a successful rushing season last year and a sweet pickup this off-season.

Make no mistake: the kid's good, just let him be good somewhere else.

Any running back on Day One would have me throwing the remote.

They're too easy to find and just not that important.

Wasn't he also the kid who Chad Jackson predicted would be a huge success when he was interviewed just after being drafted by the Pats? Maybe that should have told us something about Chad too.
