When you have FOUR centers on the roster, a center is not on the shadow roster.

I disagree in the following instance, but I would agree otherwise:

Koppen could end up being needed very easily depending upon the ultimate health of our interior linemen. If one/two go down then those "4 centers" that you speak of will have to play the guard positions.

Then it obviously would depend on whether or not Belichick would see Koppen as a potential upgrade over a guy like McDonald or Tennant. One could make a reasonable case that he may, although the odds are that Koppen won't be coming back unless there are a couple injuries.

I'd much rather have Connolly at guard than center. Last year at center his pass blocking efficiency was 96.1 which ranked him as the 31st center in the league.

I've always believed that Connelly was a much better guard than he was a center, but I'm in the minority here it seems.

I've always also believed all summer long that Connelly would be in one of the guard positions, as the Mankins/Waters situations were just too unstable to feel otherwise, and that was also one of the reasons why I thought Koppen could potentially be our starting center still.

Although I was indeed wrong about Koppen and didn't expect him to look so rusty, I still expect Connelly to be used in the guard position.

It's unquestionably Wendell and its his job to lose.....Tennant would be his replacement or maybe Re-sign Koppen if the team finds themselves desperate.

Connolly is set as RG for as long as he remains healthy IMO.
