listen to the Patriots Unfiltered episode from today because Lazar is spot on: « the coach think the QB is the problem »

Maybe you will learn something.

Funny since Lazar has repeatedly said that Patricia is the problem. So Lazar himself disagrees with Belichick. My guess is you are misquoting Lazar.

Lazar is good. He has been saying for weeks that Jones has been good football and making a lot of tough throws. He has also said that Jones’ problem is consitency and that will come in time.

I quoted Lazar word for word.

Lazar thinks that Bill think that Mac is the problem.

He also said that for this Buffalo game it was more Patricia than Mac

I would opt for Chad O'Shea. He has history with the system.
That horrifically bad running game his one year in Miami is hard to look past, though. One of the few teams in recent history where three average runs would still be short of a first down. That’s terrible.

I quoted Lazar word for word.

And probably out of context. I am willing to bet on it.

Post the video at the point he says that or give the time so I and everyone else can hear for themselves. My guess he is giving his opinion on what Belichick said in the post game press conference rather than based on any on the field play. Or he is giving a hypothetical about how Belichick would refuse to remove Patricia from play calling duties.

Actually @Lagaffe_07, I know I am right that you took Lazar out of context. Here is an excerpt from Lazar's latest column:

As for the quarterback, Jones did some good things. He continues to make high-level quarterback plays when kept clean in the pocket where he can manipulate coverage, and the offense as a whole produces using play-action. But we'll discuss ceilings with this quarterback all offseason, with the evidence on film of off-platform issues and poor performance under pressure.

After hearing Belichick's comments about his evaluation of Jones in his season-ending press conference on Monday morning, the fear is that the head coach believes the quarterback left too many plays on the field that the coaches schemed up, especially this week. But it's not a one-week season.

The fact that three touchdowns felt like significant progress is telling. If this had happened in Week 13 versus the Bills, maybe we'd sing a different tune about progress. Ultimately, it's too little too late, and we can't ignore the other 16 games because this one had a passing grade for the offensive coaches.

It's also inexplicable that the coaches shied away from dialing up play-action from under center all season long just for Mac to complete all nine of his play-action attempts for 92 yards and a touchdown in Week 18. This season, Jones ranks 30th among 32 qualified quarterbacks in play-action rate (16.7%), a ten percent decrease from his rookie season.

The Patriots need to get on the same page offensively as they head into Mac Jones's third season, where it's paramount that they determine if he's the long-term answer. The preference here is to go all-in on Mac with a new offensive coordinator, but does the head coach agree? It'll be a very telling couple of months in New England.

So you most assuredly took Lazar out of context. He wasn't giving an analysis of Mac Jones nor was he actually reporting any rumor or inside source. He was speculating based on Belichick's comments in his end of the season press conference that Belichick may believe the coaching was fine and Jones just didn't execute.

I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't really hear the comment in full context rather than twisting Lazar's words to fit your agenda.

BTW, Lazar clearly hopes that Belichick doesn't believe Mac Jones is the problem.

You should actually listen to Lazar and what he ACTUALLY said. Maybe you will learn something.

As

he points out Klingsbury is wealthy. Why would he take a demotion to work under BB?? What person in their right mind would do this? He is getting paid by AZ big bucks through 2027 and has already made a ton of money.
The same thing that drives a man to wake up on a day where it's 2 degrees outside, next to his super model wife, in his warm comfy bed, inside his warm mansion and thinks:
"hmm I could get a piece of this action laying next to me and then enjoy the rest of my day comfortably doing whatever I please. Nah, I think I'll shower and head over to the stadium to get hit by 300lb dudes all afternoon."

The desire to be the best you can be at what you do. Not saying he's at Brady's level on this, but the drive for these guys is real.

Its a demotion for him, not for Brady

Please don’t moan and groan when it’s Adam Gase. Bill really likes him.

And? Unless he goes back to college to be a HC, which is also a demotion, that is what these guys do. Get fired go somewhere as a coordinator, do a good job and two years later you're back on the shortlist if HC candidates across the league. Rinse repeat. Two times in a row with no success you're relegated to coordinator for life status.

So it goes in the NFL.

Please don’t moan and groan when it’s Adam Gase. Bill really likes him.
Wouldn't groan at all Gase is a good OC, HC not so much. Not even sure what he is doing now.

Vs.

At this point I’ll take my chances with someone who at least has offensive coordinator experience with a successful offense….

Gase wouldn’t bother me. Running it back would bother me.

Gase wouldn’t bother me. Running it back would bother me.
Gase and Patricia could we relate less to young players personalities.
It feels like having the cast of the Big Bang theory without Penny.

@Rob0729 with all due respect, you're being pedantic.

@Lagaffe_07 basically is saying the same thing you are. "Speculating that Belichick may believe the coaching was fine and Jones didn't execute" isn't that different From "Lazar thinks that Bill thinks that Mac is the problem".

They both are saying the same thing - Lazar thinks Bill is putting some of the blame on Mac

No he isn't. I put direct quotes from Lazar. He said based on Bill Belichick's end of the season press conference, he fears that Belichick may blame Jones for the offense. Lazar never said that Bill was putting the blame on Jones. He said he is worried that he is based on his press conference.

This is what @Lagaffe_07 posted to me:

That isn't remotely what Lazar said. Lazar is concerned that Belichick thinks that way based on comments in a press conference and Lazar thinks if Belichick thinks that way, Belichick is wrong. But Lazar never said that the coach thinks the QB is the problem.

And let's face it the way @Lagaffe_07 responded to a post that Orlovsky putting the blame on Patricia, he was mostly like implying that Lazar also put most of the blame on Jones.

Well, fair enough.

Either way, the debate is fascinating on its own.

If Lazar's fears are right, it surely makes the Mac Jones decision interesting

dont know if this is even remotely true

It would be nice to see the Patriots move quickly on the OC and give the appearance of decisiveness and a commitment to change

Bill O'Brien can stay where he is ruining Heisman campaigns. Kingsbury can flip burgers.

I'd send the entire offensive staff to help him too.

What a mess.
