Prior to the 4th preseason game I would have said Kline-got that one wrong.

Prior to the season I would have guessed Cooper.

Today I would guess Karras due to health and time spent with the other lineman ahead of Mason.

Right before Vollmer got hurt I confidently predicted a line of Solder/Thuney/Stork/Mason/Vollmer.

Suffice to say, it's best if I don't guess.

I thought Cooper was healthy? If so he starts. Otherwise they may have to go with Karras

I would say Cooper starts opening night but we should expect a great deal of rotation the first few weeks.

1. Mason RG
2. If Mason stinks/hurt at RG, Cooper.
3. If Thuney falters/hurt, Mason goes to LG and Cooper RG
4. If many suck/injured then Karras.

I don't think this is something any of us can give an informed opinion about because there are too many unknowns.

Isn't that what makes it fun to talk about?

Guesses so far
Cooper-2
Mason-1
Karass-1

Based on the tiny bits of info I've seen so far I'm going to guess Cooper, but would not be at all shocked if I was wrong.

The main unknowns are health, about which we have no more than guesswork. So ...

1. If all three are healthy:

Mason. He showed promise in Year 1 and can be expected to show improvement in Year 2. It's his slot to lose.

2. If only two are healthy:

Mason over Cooper (he has more experience in the Patriots system and Cooper has yet to show anything on the field). Cooper over Karras (a physically talented player with some NFL experience over a rookie). Mason over Karras (obviously).

3. If only one is healthy ...

No more to be said!

It really doesn't matter who starts this week....let's look at it this way, we are already better off because Kline is gone, so if it's Mason, Cooper or Karass, everyone should just be glad it's not Kline.

I'd have to lean towards it being Cooper despite his missing time with the injury.

If Mason can go Mason ... if not Karas.

Our line is a f.ucking mess and the season hasn't even started yet. At least last year we had a half season before everything went to hell.

I'll go with Mason with a big sledgehammer cast on his hand. BAM, BAM!!!

I think they really like karras.

He has to be better than a one armed mason.

You pessimistic doom and gloomers realize how whiney you sound when you make statements like that, right?

"Season hasn't started yet" "OL is a mess"

How do you know it's a mess if they haven't even played yet. I'm not saying it will happen but what if the OL goes out there and competes and plays solid, not saying Pro-Bowl level but just well enough to say "hey they weren't bad".

But what am I saying you pessimists aren't wired to have that kind of outlook, it's always doom and gloom

Do have any cristicism of the New England Patriots?

Do they ever do anything wrong in your eyes?

Has they lost a legitimate game in the last 15 years that you don't have some type of excuse for?

I'm starting to believe you work for the team

Stork, Kline, and Cooper are all out so that leaves only Mason (with a broken hand) and Karras.

In Scars we trust.
