Let's suppose you are able to look into the future, and during the time they are in college, you are able to see exactly how some players will turn out should the Patriots draft them. For example, the year is 2006, and you are able to look at Stephen Gostkowski and see how his entire career would play out should you draft him. Of course, you can only see the players listed below; other players have the same question marks as always.

To make it easier so we don't have to deal with draft position, we'll use supplemental draft rules, so if you pick someone in the 3rd round, you would give up next year's 3rd round pick as payment. And let's assume that other teams also have the ability to project these players, so you can't use "I'll wait until a later round and get a steal" as an argument. You need to pick them in the earliest round where you think they are worth the investment, like the supplemental draft.

*Note: players don't have to have been drafted by Patriots originally. (And I am leaving the obvious first round grades out because they makes it less interesting.)

Ryan Allen
Danny Amendola
LaGarrette Blount
Brandon Bolden
Malcolm Butler
Marcus Cannon
Pat Chung
Stephen Gostkowski
Duron Harmon
Chandler Jones
Brandon LaFell
Rob Ninkovich
Matthew Slater
Nate Solder

I don't want to look up what year each were drafted, so I'll just give my general draft round grade on each of them with a hindsight is 20/20 viewpoint

Ryan Allen = 5th round maybe 4th
Danny Amendola = 4th round
LaGarrette Blount = 3rd round
Brandon Bolden = 6th round
Malcolm Butler = 2nd round, maybe 1st.. give me until end of year to make final determination
Marcus Cannon = 3rd round
Pat Chung = 3rd round
Stephen Gostkowski = 3rd round
Duron Harmon = 3rd round
Chandler Jones = 1st round
Brandon LaFell = 2nd round
Rob Ninkovich = 1st round
Matthew Slater = 3rd round
Nate Solder = 1st round

It was not meant to be year specific, just a generic grade based on an average draft class.

Also, you don't know if the other players in that class will bust or not, whereas you get to have certainty with the players listed.
