Assuming, for argument's sake, that the Pats used their #62 pick (or something in that neighborhood) on a DB, which of the following would you choose, and why?

I'd need to see if Talib is re-signed before I answer this. If they keep him, then there's no way I'm drafting a corner early. If he's gone, then they may want to swing for the fences on a guy with some size.

I'm assuming Talib re-signs, and should have specified that in the poll. I like all 4 guys, and between now and the draft this could easily change, but for now it came down to the big CB (Jean-Baptiste) vs. the enforce at safety (Buchannon). I voted for Buchannon, partly because I think that is a bigger need, partly because I think we can find big CBs day 3 (Antone Exum, Aaron Colvin, Jonathan Dowling, Dontae Johnson). Buchannon could give us something in-between Dashon Goldson and Kam Chancellor, and that would be a great complement to Devin McCourty.

I voted other.Patriots will spend second round pick on talented but often injured shrimp-like corner. And call it a great value.

I had to go w/ Purifoy. He is one of the quicker cb out there and plays special teams.

Don't know the prospects well enough to vote, but I'd take the best physical safety or CB that was available. We need more 'Nasty' in our defensive backfield. But that guy better be able to cover as well. Basically we need the next Rodney Harrison.

Teams are going to try to duplicate the Hawk's success and I bet Deone Bucannon climbs up the second round. I think I would go with him if he lasts simply because of the depth later at corner but all the prospects are tempting.

It would be between Purifoy and Bucannon for me. But I'd pick Bucannon. I've been pounding the table for a physical SS that can absolutely light slot receivers and TE's up since 2009 and that's not changing this year, even if the team does part ways with Talib.

I like Bucannon in the 2nd

What about the Verret from TCU, any chance he'll fall to the 2nd

As you know, Fuller is arguably my favourite player in the draft so I voted with my heart and went for him. My brain however says that BB goes for Purifoy's athletic upside.

No safety in the top two rounds please!

I would prefer to take another position but I wouldn't be unhappy with Pryor at 29. He is a good player and fills a need. Two ticks from me.

As it happened I picked Purifoy in this. Think he has huge upside and would be good value at 62.

I'm surprised Bucannon is leading. I liked him quite a bit previously but the man just isn't very good in coverage and is too undisciplined in run support.

What about a more instinctive, though less physically imposing, version of Buchanan in Ed Reynolds?

Reynolds can still lay the wood and I have him listed as one of my top safeties. Wouldn't mind the team giving him a look later on in the draft.
