When Peyton Manning wanted to be pulled from a blowout, Bruce Arians refused

Good article..... says a lot about Peyton & Arians.

Expand the quote below - it is priceless.

During a 1999 game vs the Patriots
Game, the Colts trailed badly midway through the fourth quarter with the outcome of the game already decided, Peyton was so frustrated he asked for mercy "Arians writes". He wanted to be pulled from the game.

Arians refused in a colorful way.

F--k No, Get back in there. "I told him" Arians explained. We'll go no huddle and maybe you will learn something. You can never ask to come out, your our leader, Act like it"

Sounds like Arians is confused about the details. The Colts didnt trail tbe Patriots badly in either game in 1999. The first game the Colts took a 14 point lead into the 4th quarter before the Pats came back to win by 3. And the Colts won the second game after leading almost the entire game

Not gonna fault him TOO much because he was practically a kid, but he was also the number 1 pick, not a rookie anymore, and Brady wouldn't have done that.

EDIT: Sounds like this did not, in fact, happen. Arians....

Manning was a rookie in 1998. I'm sure the story is valid, but somewhere along the line it got lost in translation, that's all.

The Manning Career Timeline:

Sexual assault
Whines about losing and wants to quit
Illegal use of electronic devices to help hear signals
Pumps fake crowd noise in the stadium on offense
PED use to save his career

Did I miss anything? And he's the "good guy?" What a joke. LOL.

Huh?..a kid?...yeah, a "kid" who squashed his package on some poor nurse's face a year before he was drafted. He was no "kid", he was and is a predatory sexual assault artist scumbag.

You missed Throwing his offensive line under the bus after a loss, Scripting a weird celebration after breaking the touchdown record, sending hired goons to someone's house, having a giant Pink Head, being best friends with a dude who murdered someone and poisoned children...I could go all day long. That's not even counting all his on the field choke jobs and hilarious failures

Add in entitled Eli and Archie's pouting "we refuse to play in SD if they draft us" stance, along with Eli knowingly defrauding memorabilia collectors, and the whole family seems to be some major asses.

But the guy who everyone doubted, barely got drafted, and sets the bar for working his butt off 24/7 is made to be the villain by irresponsible media reporting and 31 other jealous fan bases. Go figure.

This. He was 22. He knew that wasn't an ok thing at that age.

It's funny because if you make that same list about all the bad things Brady did in his career, it would be

-- Screaming at Bill O'Brien that one time
-- Joking about how many points they would score against the Giants before the Super Bowl (backfired)
-- sarcastically saying maybe John Harbaugh should read the rule book
-- I think he said "****" one time in a press conference

Must have been this game. Pats up 29-0, and the Forehead gets an early career stat padding TD in garbage time.

Manning Growing, Colts Losing

Too many turnovers and too little experience add up to two losses for No. 1 draft pick Peyton Manning.

He committed four turnovers--including three interceptions for the second consecutive week--in learning some harsh NFL lessons as the New England Patriots defeated the Indianapolis Colts, 29-6, on Sunday night.

Like don't lob the ball toward an outstanding cornerback such as Ty Law.

"He's a little bit immature right now, but I know it's not going to be that easy the next go-around," said Law, who returned one interception for a 59-yard touchdown and had another in the end zone.

Those interceptions and a fumble by Manning led to 13 points as the Patriots (1-1) built a 16-0 halftime lead.

The Colts avoided a shutout when Manning passed to Torrance Small for a three-yard touchdown with 4:09 left.

Don't forget Vanderjagt, the "liquored up idiot kicker."

When you are brought up in the protected, rarified bubble that Peyton was bought up in, he expected to be protected as he always was .. glad Ariens stood up to him... not many did.

Kids (in the young adult sense) do some pretty vile things. **** Peyton.

Peyton's just a grown up, richer version of Brock Turner.

If Archie were Brock's dad, he'd be an Olympian and have a book deal.
