Yeah. 28 catches for 505 yards (18 yards a catch) over 5 games is pretty awful. Its not even close.

Its not even worth a debate. Cooks is the better wr when all things are considered. If Gordon can play to his potential for the next 5 years..then we have something to talk about.

Brady needs to stop lofting the deep balls, looks like he's afraid that he might overthrow the guy and as a result he's not throwing those with authority. Zing it out there. On the Gordon incompletion, he left it too short. On the Gronk completion on the last drive, same thing but Gronk caught it. He never hits the guy in stride out there. Contrast with Mahomes on his 2 deep completions, he fired those and it's not a question of arm strength.
It looked like Gordon might have got a concussion on that long bomb where the DB pass interfered him to prevent the touchdown
Watch that play in slow mo, he smashes his head directly into the ground.. and it was a bit of a snapping motion of his hips as they hit that sort of accelerates his top half into the ground
He landed and was shaken up, got up slowly and then started shaking his head a bunch
Did he ever go into concussion protocol? I remember him going under the blue tent for something, but i forgot if it was after that play or not

I know he's not liked around here but Big Ben is another Super one when throwing Deep he rarely misses them in stride. Brady and the deep unless he's throwing the Gronk *sighs*.
That deep pass against the Chiefs resulting in an end zone DPI where Gordon practically still caught it despite being tackled...that was probably the best (and fastest) route a wide receiver has run for Brady on a deep ball since Moss. Brady also missed him later in the game (and almost got picked) when Gordon was well behind the defender and getting more separation...it was a great play to break up that INT. One thing that Gordon has that these WRs almost never have in the Patriots offense is closing speed. He beats guys on those last few feet because of his length and long strides, to go along with elite speed. It’s a sight to behold, even if it isn’t immediately paying off like Moss. That’s one thing that bugged everyone about Cooks; he had to have extreme separation to make a play because he couldn’t win contested balls and has such relatively short strides. That’s also where having that ridiculous strength (look at Gordon’s arms and legs compared to Cooks - muscle mass vs twigs) actually matters.
You’ll see the speed soon if you haven’t yet. To me he looks capable of taking a routine slant all the way.
I saw him grab something in the front near the collarbone. At the time I commented that I thought it could be the shoulder, since he landed very hard on the left side. I was genuinely concerned and even a bit surprised to see him back out there. It looked like Gordon might have got a concussion on that long bomb where the DB pass interfered him to prevent the touchdown

We only need Gordon to help us win a Super Bowl then there’s enough to talk about. We have seen what Cooks did in the big game. If he had more grey matter the outcome could have been different.
I'm beyond over this ****ing stupid talking point. You guys are really calling Cooks stupid for a bad cut in a split second?
No, for trying to jump over the defender when he could have run for a first down.
Again, it was a single moment in time, he made the wrong move and people are trying to use it to bash his football IQ as he heads out the door. It's silly.
He's a great player and even though I supported the move to get rid of him (we got a higher 1st round pick out of the deal, iirc) but this repeated thing that one move on the field is indicative of him being dumber than Ochocinco or whatever is some seriously "he always sucked" type crap that people love to level at departing players.
Not saying he is stupid. It’s was a stupid play, one of two in that game. Everyone does stupid stuff. Like some of Bradys Super Bowl brain fart ints.

Then I guess I don't know why you'd bring it up. On the list of football venal sins I'd say it's more forgivable than the times that it looks like Gordon has made the wrong adjustment while on the Pats, for instance.
