What moves would you make to give the Pats the best chance of a Superbowl again?

More than anything I want to eliminate A gap pressure on offense and cause A gap pressure on defense. The latter is probably out of our reach this year unless Armstead becomes an interior pass rush supergod. Just can't see any effective way to address it in the short term given our other needs.

How about if N.England would draft a guy like Aaron Donald in the draft, and/or bring in another free agent addition? That would go a long way towards addressing the issue of interior defensive pressure.

We could then draft a TE in the second or third round instead.

drop either fedorowicsz or niklas and add hoskins in the 7th instead of BPA.....then use either 3 or 4 on C marcus martin and save your $$ with mack

With Profootball talk now reporting Cap will be closer to 135M excuse me while I splurge

Let go: Connolly ($2.5),Sopoaga($2),Adrian W(.7),Kelly(1.7), Gregory ($2.3) = around 9 mill
Restructure: Wilfork (savings 3-4),Mankins(3-4)= 6 minimum
Extend: McCourty ( save 1M), Gost ( 1M) = 2M

Total= Around 17M not including what we're under so in the upper 20's.

Sign: DE Michael Johnson, C Alex Mack, WR (one of) Nicks/Maclin/Riley
Resign: CB Talib, RB Blount.

Draft:
1. DT- RaShede Hageman (6-6 318)
2. SS- Deone Bucannon (6-1-216)
3. TE- Troy Nicklas (6-6 270)
4. TE- C.J.Fiedorowicz (6-6 262) ( move up if need be if still around)
6. OG- Brandon Linger (6-6 316)
7. BPA- Player whose issues drop him here

Dline: Jones-Wilfork-Hageman-Johnson
Oline: Solder-Mankins-Mack-Cannon-Vollmer
WR: Dobson, (Nicks/Maclin/Cooper), Amendola Boyce
TE: Gronk, CJ, Nicklas

Super bowl here we come. Now back to reality..

P.S. Dreaming aside that cap going up to around $132-135 gives everyone room to play.

With the latest info from Miguel if the 133M remains true, pats will be 12M plus under the cap add my 17M in cuts, restructures etc and that equals 29M under. Excuse me while I keep my sure choices (Mack) and splurge

I'd rather spend the $$ money where it would make more of a difference.....I'm trying to recall the last FA OL the pats spent good money on

brian waters is as close as it gets ... don't expect the pats to spend much $$ on a FA OL

While I have nothing to go on but speculation (and some past history which may/may not by worth a damn), but I'm thinking that you may be right on the lower odds of bringing in an expensive free agent OL.

We'll have to see how it plays out, but with Solder coming soon at a high cost, Mankins, Vollmer making decent money, and Connelly already having a pretty nice cap hit, I'm wondering if the allotment of funds there isn't at its peak already.
