What are you expecting from Drake Maye in Y2?

Marrone is going to have all of those guys ready to play, too. I haven't been this confident on the line since Scar was here.

I really hope and think he will. Be pretty, oh what’s the word I’m looking for, stupefying, if Venereal L outplays WC and is starting though….which I don’t think will happen…/crossing fingers and other superstition things one does to not jinx themselves…

27 passing TDs
3800 pass yards
11 INTs
66.5% completion rate
6 rush TDs

Drake needs to get into better shape and add some muscle. He seems soft and puffy with girly arms. If Drake is injured, the season is pretty much kaput. The Patriots made great strides this year, but next year they need to add depth at the key positions such as QB, LT, C, etc.
Sam, you have got to get off this whole Maye's body type thing. This isn't the first time and It is beyond silly, especially when we are talking Patriots QB's and their bodies. For example:

At the 2024 NFL Combine Drake Maye's height was listed as 6-4.2 and his weight was 225 lbs

At the 2000 NFL Combine Tom Brady's height was listed as 6-4.3 and his weight was 211 lbs

Just stop, please

Accuracy, better decision making and learning to take the checkdown with a pass catching back. We still need an Elite TE, left guard, rush end and a run stuffing linebacker. Next yrs draft.

I want 4k yards in the air

That should be a great season.

Buffalo had the 2nd ranked 2024 offense and Allen had - 3731 pass yds, 28 pass TDs, 6 INTs and a 63.6 % completion rate. Allen also rushed for 500+ yds and 12 rush TDs. I expect Henderson to be a Beast.

The Pats would likely go from the 30th ranked NFL offense to a top 10 2025 NFL offense.

I think teams have enough on Drake. He started week 6 and beyond. They have enough on him to see his capabilities and tendencies.. he's a dual threat QB and teams know that they can't necessarily predict what he's going to do on 3rd down.. even in a ****ty situation last season he was the lone bright spot offensively. With real scheme and some guys that now have to be accounted for on offense Drake can thrive and dispel whatever defenses try to take away.
Exactly right.

31 defenses have broken down every inch of 2024 film. All it takes is 1 DC to crack the code in stopping Maye. Good news is that Mickey D has been through this with Brady.

This is a great insight. Looking back to 2002 Brady was a fumble machine
Great insight. In 2002 Brady lost 11 fumbles and made it a priority to fix that by 2003. He worked on falling - being more prepared when it - getting his hands stronger.

This aside - back when Brady came into the league it was "common knowledge" that arm strength was what is was. You either had it or you didn't. It wasn't something that you can improve. Brady changed that paradigm by becoming the first guy that I can remember who came into the league as a noodle arm, and left it as a fireballer. And he did by his force of will and lots and LOTS of hard work to improve his mechanics, arm slots, leg strength, etc and reps and reps and reps. Those clips of him playing catch with one of those mechanical ball machines always flip me out. The outlier of all outliers If Campbell has that kind of mentality, it won't matter how narrow his shoulders are.

Back on topic: I'm looking for just improvement. He will be looking at the 2nd new offense in the last two years. It will take time. New OC, Lots of new faces, new offense and possibly a new language. 4 weeks of TC is NOT going to be enough reps to see Maye as a finished product. I'm just looking for him to look better each game as the season goes along and he develops a relationship with his OL and receivers.

Statistically, just improve on the 2024 numbers These are all doable things as SHOULD be expected from him given the improved coaching, scheme, and personnel
That was Tara Reid's fault for introducing TB to Beer Bongs

Definitely agree. From watching different patriots reporting about Josh.. he really is excited to have Drake and what he posssess physically... drakes deep balls are accurate wich is impressive as a rookie.. go figure drake had a better rookie season than Josh Allen did. We have so many options on 3rd down now..

I don’t think this is unfair at all. Maye has been forced to play hero ball his entire college and nfl career to date. He’ll need a year in the McD system to change these habits. We also need to prepare for an offensive line with up to 4 new starters…even if we wind up fielding a solid line, and we might, it’s going to take some time for this unit to gel.

Fortunately, the defense is strong enough and the schedule is weak enough to weather Some hiccups. I could see the season playing out a lot like 2021, where they get off to a slow star before feasting on weak teams, the critical difference being that this year’s group continues to grow through throughout the year, rather than being exposed as fraud against stronger competition.
Maye did not have to play hero ball during his freshman and sophomore years at Carolina. Both of those teams had very good offensive lines and excellent skill players. His sophomore year was absolutely loaded at RB, WR and TE. His junior year was challenge as the friggin' portal and NIL began to really take their toll.

The promising thing is that with talent around him AND AN OFFENSIVE LINE THAT CAN BLOCK SOMEBODY, Drake Maye will make the most of what his teammates can bring. This year, once again, is all about the offensive line. It should be better, but we don't know yet what the Patriots have. Having Doug Marrone working with the line is big step up from the last two years, so there's a good chance we'll see a competent line that can get better as they work together.

Lowe outplaying Campbell ... PBP.. that's funny. Lowe will be hard pressed to even make the final roster.. we have some UDFA that likely offer more than he can.. go back to last training camp.. Wolf saying he needs to learn how to use his hands... LMAO like.. WTF ..

Top 10 offense sounds like a good scenario, yes

If we're being honest I'll gladly settle for a competent offense as a good scenario. A top 10 offense and we're probably going to have full blown community wide Patsgasms here at PF.*

*Except for Sam and The Capt ofc

This video is great foreplay for those seeking a "Patsgasm."

I feel ya but take what these guys say one day with a grain of salt. If you didn’t notice (I’m sure you did, you have a brain ) these coaches and FO people always say things they either regret later or should have not said later or both. Honestly with all the new bodies, the only thing that could get him a spot on the 53 is the need for depth. Let him be a swing. It would be nice to get SOME value out of these flops. Maybe let him be a tackling dummy in TC?! .

The next time both of them are concurrently happy enough to have Patsgasms will be the first time.
There's a world of difference between begrudgingly content and 'happy'

“Patsgasms”…I like that. Gonna trademark it before Bunny or anyone else. But seriously, nice one.
