Buffalo had the 2nd ranked 2024 offense and Allen had - 3731 pass yds, 28 pass TDs, 6 INTs and a 63.6 % completion rate. Allen also rushed for 500+ yds and 12 rush TDs. I expect Henderson to be a Beast.

The Pats would likely go from the 30th ranked NFL offense to a top 10 2025 NFL offense.

1) I don't see why folks think that a top 10 Offense is likely. I do indeed expect lots of improvement.

2) An average Offense (14-18) would make us a playoff contender. Perhaps we are ready to do that, perhaps it is too much of a jump for one year.

3) The line MAY BE close to an average OL. I do think that this is unlikely. The good news is that Josh can make do with a below average OL, just not an awful one.

4) We are asking a lot. There will be an inexperienced sophomore QB, a new set of linemen and wide receivers getting used to a new system and a new set of coaches getting used to the personnel and to each other.

Aside from the obvious turnover issue I'm not at all concerned about whatever stats he might compile. That'll all take care of itself. Maye is in great hands coaching-wise and has adequate weapons to work with. My main concern is his health, especially the concussion issue that arose last year. He is prone to run -- sometimes recklessly -- and needs to get self-preservation drilled into him as priority No. 1. That will be a challenge.

I really hope and think he will. Be pretty, oh what’s the word I’m looking for, stupefying, if Venereal L outplays WC and is starting though….which I don’t think will happen…/crossing fingers and other superstition things one does to not jinx themselves…

We know lowe isn't a starting caliber NFL player. Back up is him full potential. He's already with the organization so if he can't make the team over a rookie UDFA then he probably won't have a job in the NFL period. maybe Campbell can show him how to play LT.

Daniel Jones wow! Guy was a rookie! Let me repeatedly say.. he had MAYO for a coach.. AVP for a OC and vederian lowe and Demontrey Jacobs as his OTs.

I hear you on the TOs.. he will have to improve in that area. He will. I expect to see a more effective, fluid and professional offense this season.

You make good points Mgt.
But in 2021 with Mac we had a top 10 scoring Offense. That's definitely feasible.. scoring 24-26 PPG is absolutely feasible. This is what OTA, mini camp, and training camp is for. Offensive and defensive installation.. putting together what you want to be come the regular season.

Drake had to overcome alot last season and still had a positive plus/minus TD to INTS last season,and he rushed for a bunch of yards. I expect more designed runs, a fluid passing offense, Henderson and gibby to be factors out the backfield.

Big plays down the field off play action.

1) 2021 Patriots under Josh were around #10 in team offense based on advanced metrics.
Mac Jones, Damien Harris, Rhamondre, Meyers, Bourne, Henry, Agholor, Bolden, Jonnu Smith were the main skill guys. Josh McDaniels is good, and probably even better now. And he has upgrades or equal at every position from 2021. A MAJOR QB upgrade.

2)Hard to say how good the defense will be, 1st time DC, lots of new pieces, Barmore health for the whole season etc. A top 5 offense is the closest thing to guaranteeing a playoff birth. A top 10 defense makes a big difference as well. If we are not top 10 in either we likely don't make playoffs.

3) Yeah, still a question mark, Can Campbell solidify LT, but questions at every position that need to be answered, still better than last year, just how much.

4) Agree, Biggest question is how fast they come together. Vrabel was 15-9 with Tennessee in the first month of the season. A .576 win % vs .545 overall. He won 3 of the first 4 his first year as coach. I think he'll have them ready to play good football day 1.

I went back and watched the Arizona, Buffalo and Chargers all 22, just the passing plays. My recollection was Drake played a little worse at the end of the year. Not the case at all. Man did the line stink. Also, Gibson was terrible at blocking the blitz. One play the guy shoved him with his left hand, put Gibson on his butt and sacked Drake. A couple plays later Rham misses a middle blitz, guy just bumps him slightly and goes by, Rham is then too slow to turn around and get Drakes dump off. Hendersen will be a difference maker in so many ways.

Bad play calling, the bad line, the bad RB blitz pickup, bad shotgun snaps, all things that killed the offense that should be miles better.
I also think Drake will be great in Josh's offense, he seemed to make the right checks, could read the defense well, putting him in charge of protection and giving him more control at the line should improve the offense as well.

Watching the tape made me excited for Drake in this offense with the additions. Can't wait.

Still no elite wr talent so i don’t expect anything bigger than modest #s. Similar to mac’s rookie year but hopefully better. Id Like to see the defense and run game with improved OL lessen the load on him and lead to less turnovers. A situation like last year is a breeding ground for qb turnovers, ESPECIALLY a rookie

If healthy Diggs could fill the WR role.

I'm still not sold on Maye but he could turn out great if he learns not to force the ball (all strong armed QBs tend to do that).
And for crying out loud can someone teach him how to slide?

The rookie QB ints don't bother me that much... it's all about a rookie QB learning what you can and can't get away with in the NFL. Anyone wanna look up Peyton Manning Andrew Luck Matt Stafford and Troy Aikman's rookie int totals?

The fumbles and strip sacks do bother me and also think that's fixable with good coaching. Looking forward to seeing his second year jump.

Also after watching the tape at the end of the year I thought Maye gave some hope the Turnovers earlier can be taken out of his game.

His last 4 full games he had 3 picks and 2 fumbles lost.

-2 of the picks bounced off receivers hands and up into the air for picks.
-The other pick in Buffalo at the goal line was the only one he gets some blame, but Hooper went the wrong way, and tripped, while the pother WR was slammed into an put on the ground. Still probably should have thrown it away but if Hooper runs the out, has a chance.
-The 2 fumbles were the Rham backward pass near the goal line, dumb play call, terrible execution and the stupid Douglas reverse blind toss play, bad play call, worse execution. No strip sack TO's or badly thrown picks as earlier in the year.

He really could have come out pretty clean the last 4 games. Really should have been 1 pick and no fumbles in last 4. Hopefully signs of progress.

Because last seasons offense could not score points or convert 3rd downs forcing the defense back on the field. Brisset was cooked and he was QB for 50% of the 4 wins.

This season, Maye plays all 17 games (hopefully) after he got baptized last season. He made rookie mistakes, but he also proved (to me) that this game is not too big for him. I have to believe that Mickey D is better than Van Pelt even though I though AVP did a good job under the circumstances.

Lets use the 2024 AZ Cards for example.

9 wins
12th ranked offense
15th ranked defense
1000 yd rusher in old James Conner
572 rush yards from Murray
1000 yd TE in McBride
No 1000 yd WRs to speak of
39 total offensive TDs
18 rush TDs
21 pass TDs

Those are not really eye popping numbers by any stretch and a 12 ranked offense is several plays from the top 10 club.

For the 2025 Pats, I foresee - 8 - 9 wins.

Maye only had 338 pass attempts in 2024 compared to Murray who had 541 pass attempts. A deficit of 200.
Brisett had a 59% completion rate and Maye finished with a 66% completion rate. That difference seems insignificant, but its not. Anytime you're completing 2 out of 3 passes you're going to compete in a lot of games.

Henderson is going to blow up this season. Not only rushing, but in the pass game too.
Maye is comparable to Murray in his rushing ability. Not shifty like Murray, but capable of taking off with the ball. I see McDaniels using his rush skills throughout the season because that is just 1 more element that opposing defenses need to gameplan for.
Henry and Hooper can surely combine for 1000 yds.
I believe that we will see a 1000 yd Pats WR for the first time since 2019.
The Pats had only 29 total offensive TDs in 2024. Im certain that number will be larger in 2025.
With the Pats defense improving giving up fewer points, combined with the offense scoring more points, that typically leads to more wins.

The first one was to the tight end at the goal line and Drake threw it to his back side low and I don’t remember if it was Henry or Hooper, slid down and reached to grab the ball and in doing so, popped it straight up in the air and the cornerback standing in the end zone Intercepted it

The old one was I believe Boutte over the middle where he stopped? Paul hit him in the chest and hands and he just popped it forward about 4 yards right to the defensive back.

Neither was thrown too hard. The second one was 100% the receiver. The first one I think was thrown in the proper place, but it’s tight end was thinking something a little different so had to slide down and reach back a little, but if he just dropped the ball instead of popping it up in the air no pick

Agreed. fixable is exactly what the TOs, and strip sacks are. Being a rookie imagine what had to be going through Drakes mind when he beats out Brissett, and then his former HC says Brissett gives the best chance to win.. he probably was thinking why did i get drafted here.

But to your point all those QBs committed TOs worse than Drake did thier rookie seasons.. add in Josh Allen too!
