All we HAVE to do is make sure Jones doesn't get matched up 1 on 1 with Higgins, especially in the red zone.
I'm sure we'll see a fair amount of Chase vs. Gonzo. But the main factor is if our ineffective pass rush can actually get home - whether Flacco or a rusty/non-running Burrow - we have to get quicker pressure on them, and finish some sacks.
I mentioned something about the pass rush during the TB game.. I noticed once Durden came in the game the interior pressure was ramped up.. same with the jets game.. hope it continues..

Why couldn't he do that here? This season?

I blame you and the rest of The Cult.
The truth is there are a few reasons, all of which already have been discussed ad nauseam but they don't really matter. What matters isn't the reasons, what matters is who we're going to blame. Having given the matter as much thought as it merits, I instantly settled on you and The Cult. See that? I found a way to assign your group relevancy. You're welcome

After the game, the NFL officially suspended Carter one game. However, because Carter did not play one snap in the Dallas game, the NFL counted that game as the suspension.

I would be shocked if Chase is allowed to play next week.

I agree anything can happen. But just making a point that Chase being out would be possibly huge.

On Chase, it's always a mistake to think that just because Goodell punished one player one way that he'll be consistent with the punishment for another player who does exactly the same thing.

There is no comparison between this and the opening game. This was much worse.

Prescott admitted and it was evident in videos that he spit towards one of his offensive lineman, as he claims he does every game, and it went over his head towards Carter. The officials missed that, and Prescott later apologized.

That was over a misunderstanding it seems. This was aggression.

Edit" I don't know if I missed someone mentioning this.

Still amazed that Jerod Mayo and Jacoby Brissett's Patriots beat the Bengals on the road - and with both Burrow and Chase.
It was a mirage..

He fits the Steelers D but he’s mostly a box safety, which usually doesn’t fit the Pats defensive scheme.

On this play he’s in zone in the middle of the field and Flacco probably didn’t see him or just didn’t loft the ball enough to the receiver five yards behind Dugger.

Flacco panicked because Herbig was looping inside on a delayed stunt. Rather than take the sack, he tried to beat the blitz but Watts got there and nicked him on his throwing arm.

That depends upon how they decide to handle him. If they use the method Belichick used on Tyreek Hill it would be Marcus Jones covering him underneath with either a safety or CB overbthe top, which would mean putting Gonzalez on Higgins. If they just wanted to go straight up then it would be Gonzalez on Chase, and if Chase is out just put Gonzalez atraight up on Higgins.

I do seem to remember Gonzalez being put on Hill at points, as Hill said after the game "next up top 3 easily"

However I also see Jones being down for the task with help, as well.

The beauty is: we can imagine multiple styles of coverage being successful.

Could u imagine taking QBs first overall 2 years in a row!

It’s not out of the realm of possibility if Tenn hasn’t seen encouraging signs and growth from Ward by the end of the season.

Arizona took Rosen at…#10 I think, then Murray #1 the following year.

It would be a bold move, but one they could make if they don’t have complete faith in Ward.
Murray is a Bust and Ward looks like one too.

It would, and fans can always speculate, but teams and players pay a heavy price if they go into a game not respecting that they are going to be in a fistfight. As bad as some teams can suck even last years Patriots won 3 games, and Belichick's last team only won 4. I don't count Buffalo 24' because that was deliberate loss.
I’m not worried about the players discounting the Bengals at all. Not with Vrabel at the helm.

Whatever fans want to speculate will happen is irrelevant regardless.

Nah.. Double D.. it's all good! Just an observation.. Andy Reid needs to give up play calling and get a better OC.. thier downfield passing game is non existent.

Bo Nix sucks but he made plays to put his team in position with thier best player in Surtain.
Reid is fine let's not be silly.

No he's not. All his gadget plays have been played out.
Or his team just isn't executing quite as well as the last few years. Playoffs starting to look a little tougher now but they'll stay competitive and be right back in the mix with a very good offense next year.

No he's not. All his gadget plays have been played out.
Defenses over the last 8 years have reduced that offense to checkdowns, inside zone runs, bubble screens, RPO slants, and PI bait. The deep crossers are completely gone. The seam routes are completely gone. The toss cracks are completely gone.

In this instance I think 'fine' is a matter of semantics but one worth taking apart a little. Reid is one of the better offensive minds in the game but there's a couple of things going on there. The first is one you alluded to, it didn't matter how played out some of his concepts might have been when he had a collection of All Pro's to implement them but now...

The 2nd thing I think plays into the first, they've been together right along but this is largely Kermit's offense now. They might both benefit from bringing in someone else with a good offensive mind bringing in a different perspective. Ceding play calling to that 3rd party could do the Chefs a lot of good so naturally we all hope they don't do it
