Well this Super Bowl just became really important.

Is there really a sequel?

I have a lot of faith in the Coen Bros but a lot of 90s/early 2000s moves who got sequels got bad sequels so if this happens I'm going to set expectations to disappointment.

Anchorman 2 is probably the best sequel that comes to mind of a classic 90s/early 2000s movie and it was eh...not as good as the first round.

Yep. Some things should be left as is.

I see that I'm in danger of going off topic, but I actually dislike the series. I read all the books, and he's got a decent sense of how to construct plot lines and ratchet up tension, but they're just not very likeable or enjoyable for me. I've also read too many of his blog posts were he goes after the Patriots and calls them cheaters -- I'll never be a fan of his work.
Why would you read a series of long books that aren’t enjoyable to you? Read something else.

I'd like to be a professional author one day. I've written several books and I'm in the process of querying agents and trying to land a publishing contract. When I'm not working or writing, I try to read constantly (PatsFans really puts a dent in that). 1000+ page books are fairly common on my shelf, so a long series doesn't intimidate me at all, and there are certain moments I liked in the series. As I mentioned earlier, I've taken notes from Martin, and believe I've improved my own work because of reading the series.

Read something else.

Got any suggestions?

There's an early 2000s sequel that I hope will smash the original, the Patriots vs Rams SB. I trust you won't be dissapointed.

Lol never!

Though I think I'm actually rooting for the Patss this time.

Rams don't even belong there after that BS in New Orleans and Brady is just a damn machine.

Who knows, maybe he'll even retire if he gets one more ring.
JF79, you're a good dude. My cavoriten Jets fan

My favorite opposing fan though I don't ever interact with you. You should just be a pats fan

I'm also drunk

Super Bowls are indeed more important than they used to be.

Fair enough, and good job! It’s just that there are millions of books, so no reason to subject yourself to something you don’t enjoy. I read the first Game of Thrones, didn’t like it, and stopped.

Recommendation...George Pelecanos is good..

Brady Shrugged.

The Dude abides... I was never an "urban achiever", but have often gone over the threshold to a "world of pain".. Donnie, "Shut the F. up" .

This is one of my favorite movies, but for some reason my wife just does not get it.. I tell her maybe you should not overthink this, but for some reason she does..

This makes more sense now than ever..

You know that 6th Lombardi would really tie the room together....
But, think of the banners!?! Poor mr Kraft will have to re design the stadium again.

Nah, that's not why I dislike GoT; that's why I dislike Martin.

I do care about this Super Bowl, though.

I actually met him (through my wife - she travels in those circles, not me). We read each of his books together, starting shortly after the first came out. I think she has ARCs of every one but the first laying around somewhere.

Wife told him I was a Pats fan. I told him Brady was going to play 10 more years - he laughed. I bet he isn’t laughing now- that was nearly 7 years ago.

Very approachable guy. I’ve seen him walk the floor of cons alone, greet people waiting in lines - even after HBO made him recognizable to millions.

But I agree with you that the books turned into an unending torture chamber for readers. HBO seems to have done a better job since they took over in that respect.

That's pretty neat. It's tough to gauge someone just through text, sometimes.

And if your wife has any tips or industry contacts, let me know.

Did they have color TV in the superbowl the last time the jets were in it?
