Welker's first TD - lateral?

They're not going to change that to a lateral.

yes, that was a great formation and they can do alot out of it, ie, fake the quick toss to Welker, and have one of the TE's be the primary receiver, etc, etc, but one thing before we all get too carried away with that play, if you look at the replay, Cincy only had two defenders out there to cover the three Pats, so the TEs were blocking one on one, and there was no one to stop Wes. That kind of D oversight probably isn't going to happen again anytime soon.

Right so the next time Brady will spin to his right and find Moss or Welker under covered Thats the beauty of having great tight ends

1.) I don't play FF, but couldn't Sanchez get those 12 points with the Jets still losing the game?

2.) How many people are in your league, if you're ending up with Sanchez as your QB?

1. It is theoritically possible for the Jets to lose and Sanchez to get 12 more points than Flacco gets....but highly unlikely.

2. I drafted in the 12 spot. So also 13, 36, 37,60,61,84, 85 etc. By the time the 60th pick (end of the 5th) had come everyone had picked a QB and there was 11 QBs off the board. In a league with 1 QB, 3 WR, 3 RB, 1 TE, 1 WR/TE/RB, K and def position I didn't think anyone would a select a backup QB while they still needed starting runningbacks and wrs. So I decided to wait and grab one with the 84th pick. But lo and behold everyone took their backup between pick 62-83. At this point I really didn't see any point in grabbing a QB and one more went off the board during the next two rounds. I grabbed Sanchez and Rapesburger. At the end of the 9th and beginning of the 10th. I should be okay come week 5.

It could happen. Suppose Flacco goes down early, or the Baltimore running game is all over the Jets and scoring, so Flacco doesn't have to throw much. Then Sanchez has to throw a lot to try to get back in it, but he falls short at the end. I'll have to go with you, though, on this one and hope you lose big time in FF (this week only!).

Thanks to you both. The idea of having to split my cheering like this is why I've never gotten into FF, but I still find it interesting to read about how it's done and why.

Not just this week. I am hoping on not getting much out of my QB next week either. (Even more important than this week.) And next week I am facing Moss and Brady (who I am hoping do well) the only bright spot is she also has the Jets defense which I hope sucks next week (as does she)

I never let FF interests get in the way of my actual football interests.

It really depends on your mentality in it. I enjoy FF a lot, but I don't play for money, and don't really care if I lose (though winning is fun of course )

For example, I have Benson in my league, and I was disappointed when he scored against the Pats. Remember, this was in pseudo garbage time, so it didn't even really hurt the Pats that much, and I still wish they'd kept him out.

Again, really all depends on how serious you take the fantasy part.

If you stick to free leagues than it ain't a problem. I just draft who I think will be good, but root for the Patriots, FF team be damned.

Several years ago, I was in a money league, winner take all, final game had $600 dollars riding on my rooting against Brady and for the opposing teams defense and WR. That was the last time I was in a money league cause the divided interests stop making watching football fun.

With no money at a stake FF can be fun, cause then it is just about the draft party.

Our league...the stakes are pretty low-- 12 people. The cost of beer + food for draft party is divided 11 ways with last year's winner getting in for free. So the guy who won last year saved $8.50 this year. Big whooie.

Me neither, even though I am in a league that plays for money (not very much though, and it is mostly my family members - I even footed the entry fee for my twelve year olds and their 9 year old cousin for their own team when somebody dropped out late). It is mostly just for some fun family competition. My opponent yesterday (one of my brothers) has Wes Welker and nobody cheered louder for Wes than me. Of course, it helped that my brother also had the Bengals as his defense, and even though he has that RB on the Texans on his team, he didn't play him (SUCKA!! Okay - there is that friendly family competition thing coming out).

The Pats winning (and or division rivalries losing and improving our standings) always come first for me. The fantasy thing is just a fun sideline.
