Welker was never coming to the patriots

You would have to be either completely gullible or unbelievably dumb to accept Kraft's statements as truthful. "here Wes, take 2 years at less than what we gave Ochocinco, we want you here for life......................."

The patriots offer was this "Thanks for nothing, don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. And that is the polite version, the more accurate would be "Hey Wes, GFY."

Yes, yes. We get it. Impossible not to, since you've been moaning about it pretty much nonstop since it happened.

And yet, he in all likelihood would have gotten more here than he will playing in Denver. I guess all the teams are in cahoots to screw Welker. And FWIW, I was referring to the duration of the contract only, not the $$ involved. It's quite possible the Patriots didn't want Welker back, and Kraft's statement was merely pro forma. Doubt we'll ever know.

Why do I feel like Welker's departure is going to speculated about for 40 years or so just like JFK's assassination. Until everyone who cares either dies or goes senile.

Just curious, what kind of endorsement money has WW pulled down during his years as a Patriot (locally and nationally).

YEP We lose one game next year because DA diddnt catch 8 balls and get 4 first downs and 110 yards and this place will melt down.

Crybaby whiners.

Or when the Denver slot WR torches NE's expensive slot CB...at home. You know Manning will be feeding the former Pat great.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

what's the alternative? a 37 year old QB having 3 1000 yard WR's?

yes....this is what its going to look like..........and manning will have 5700 yards on 725 attempts.....right on

Rec Yds Y/R TD Lng
88 Demaryius Thomas 94 1434 15.3 10 71
87 Eric Decker 85 1064 12.5 13 55
83 Wes Welker 118 1354 11.5 6 59

No doubt, Moss and Brady would have had record setting years in 2007 if welker hadn't ruined it for them..............

In fact they may have had 2 or 3 of the most prolific offenses in NFL history if Welker hadn't been here for the last 6 years. He is going to hurt the Broncos so much. Good thing he is in Denver instead of Cleveland..........

If it weren't for really insightful posts like this one I would think i was on a board with a bunch of complete morons.

LOL.....except the broncos already have a #1 WR and a #2 WR, and welker is not an upgrade over either......

so are you telling me that manning is simply going to have an additional 118 completions for 1300 yards and 5 more TD's simply because welker is there? simple math and add it up?

if so, you described yourself to a T

It's possible. And even if that was the only game the Pats lost and we won the SB the chest beaters here would still say "I told you so"

As I have said before, anyone who calls Welker a choker is a complete moron, you simply prove it.

I didn't, and I noticed you didn't, but you're a moron anyway

You calling me a moron is comical. It isnt me that the board is laughing at.

You are a WW lover.

I have heaped more praise on him than anyone else on this board.

He did drop the SB winning catch though. Undisputable.

Sorry, the guy is gone. Go to the Bronocs board and have at it with your man crush on him.

Manning is an update over Stokely. It's really that simple.

If you think that Denver's passing game couldn't be upgraded, I guess that's another issue.

If the Denver deal was worse then why didn't the Patriots match it when Welker gave them the opportunity?

Personally I buy Curran's argument that Belichick was bullsh.t when Welker signed the tag and didn't take their offer a year ago, so he stuck it to him. Imo Belichick is the GOAT but that doesn't preclude him for being a stubborn **** at times. Same goes for Kraft, imo he's a HOF owner who deserves immense credit for getting the game back a couple of years ago, but that doesn't stop him from being a liar when it comes to Welker and trying to protect the Patriots brand.

Overall I think the owners were really shrewd and way ahead of players, agents, and fans in knowing where the market was going. They knew the 2012 market was player friendly so the Patriots tagged Welker because he was going to get a really good offer if they didn't. Now the market has changed dramatically, especially for players over 30, so Welker's ability to get the deal he should have gotten the year before was pretty much wiped out and he had a choice between going for the money and getting 7-8 million a year, or taking less to play for a team that can win it all, which is ultimately what he decided to do. That he gave the patriots one more chance to match the offer from denver makes it clear he really didn't want to leave, rather they kicked him out the door, and the PR garbage from the patriots was just that, garbage.

Signing Amendola was the best move the Patriots could have made to try and replace Welker, going after Cruz makes no sense. Hopefully he puts up good numbers and they can overcome the loss of one of the best players they have ever had. Those who continually deride Welker and don't understand how good he was are simply demonstrating how ignorant they really are, as you have to be braindead not to understand just how valuable he really was.

I more pissed off that the Broncos have Decker and Thomas.. They can keep Welker but could we have either of them?

I could really care less what "the board" thinks. The vast majority of Patriot fans understand how great a player Welker was for the Patriots and respect him for everythin g he did for them, and the same goes for all those who really understand football, Patriot fans or not. the people who call him "choker" etc... are the ones who most fans consider complete idiots, however you can take solace in the fact that there are plenty of ******s who are in your corner because you really don't have much else to fall back on. Now, be a good little 8 year old and go make your bed before your mommy comes downstairs and gives you some consequences and an early bed, in which case you will miss the first period of the Bruins game, which they would normally allow you to see before beddybye.

No, its more of me trying to fight rediculousness with rediculousness. That is all some of us can do at this point. Some people are so over the top with WW that the only real way to reason with them is to go full on over the top in the other direction.

Translation the absurity at some of the comments regarding him are just as absurd as some of the comments made towards the FO and the future upcoming failures of the Pats because WW is gone.

It wont matter. Anything but a SB and all the WW guys will say "I told you so"

And if you read the board you would have seen who I compared WW to. Which even the most ardent WW admirers are (I am one of them) thought was me being generous.

Anyway back to your complaining. Its so constructive.

I always wonder why you spend so much time here when your Jets have so much work to do. I realize they suck but you should really focus on your team, not the Patriots.

Your point that getting rid of great players makes teams better, not worse, was a really good one though, i will try to keep it in mind.

That is all you have? A go to bed early little boy boo hoo hoo reply?

Do you think you are older than me? Some of this really sounds like you are just projecting your own failures here. Is that what is going on? do you want to talk about it?
