Denver's motivational guest speaker at its team meeting Saturday night was former Patriots WR Wes Welker, per team officials.

WW has many great skills but never struck me as a big motivational speaker. But I'd love have heard the speech.

(Merge as needed, I just didn't see a thread where this fit.)

Not sure why but I'm really not nervous for this game.

Did someone count the "ya know"s?

I kid, I kid, Wes. Many of us still love ya, ya know?

Here's to a good and safe (as possible) game.

Hah -- yes, for some reason I'm suddenly imagining how a conversation between Welker and Johnny Damon might go.

Of course if that conversation happened, they'd probably both be in a large private hot tub surrounded by beautiful and available women, so they really wouldn't have to say much.

"Everyone needs to put their best foot forward tomorrow. You can't just stick your toe in the water. You need to tear off your hoodie and dive in.........."

I think our chances just got a lot better.

Here's what we missed: "Well ... ya know. I mean, ya know, we've worked hard and ... ya know ... it's just another team on the other side of the ball. Ya know, this is the championship and, ya know, we've come too far to turn back now, ya know. It's just a game that, ya know, there will be no tomorrow. Ya know."

Yes, this was an interesting choice. There are many words I would use to describe Wes Welker but charismatic is not one of them.

His speech must have started like this " Back in the day and 3 or 4 concussions ago I lost count ya know. I was playing in the presence of the G.O.A.T Tom Brady ya know."

I'm not really sure if getting a member of your team to speak at a team meeting qualifies as a guest speaker. Scraping the barrel if you ask me.

Couldn't get Papa John?

Hey, maybe Siliga did the speech for the Pats, for all we know.

**** you welker, I hope you drop the game winning catch today.

meanwhile,in another galaxy far far away..........

Man if i were one of the Broncos i'd be absolutely pumped and jacked after hearing this dynamic Lombardian oratory

The only thing I can think is maybe Welker did some sort of funny Belichick impersonation and got everyone feeling looser about facing the legend.

I meant IF his speech was similar to this :

"Well ... ya know. I mean, ya know, we've worked hard and ... ya know ... it's just another team on the other side of the ball. Ya know, this is the championship and, ya know, we've come too far to turn back now, ya know. It's just a game that, ya know, there will be no tomorrow. Ya know."

Let's just say Wes Welker's Erudition and Eloquence will not be coming to a New York Times bestseller list anytime soon (unless Idiocracy was prescient, that is).

Couldn't get Papa John?

Papa John: Peyton let's go back to where it all began.

Peyton: The 2003 AFC Championship game? For the love of Ty Law NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
