Welker is not 100%

Welker's production is down in part because he isn't 100%. His production was solid before the Moss trade but was still down compared to the previous 3 years.

That said, it is impossible to ignore that since the trade he has been virtually invisible. Moss absence is clearly the cause of that. This offense doesn't have a guy on the outside to draw coverage away from him and defenses are having no trouble taking him completely out of the game.

I wouldn't say he's been "virtually invisible". Certainly the production has dropped, but it's 2 receptions and 20 yards per game difference, not amazing to invisible.

With Moss his production was on pace 104 catches 868 yards and 12 TDs. The 4 games without him would be 72/552/0 over a 16 game season. That is a pretty significant drop off.

The last 3 games he has 11 catches for 85 yards. I'd say that is virtually invisible for a guy who had averaged almost 8 catches per game as a Patriot.

Like I said, 2 receptions and 20 yards per game dropoff. You can extrapolate that to 16 games or 80 games or whatever to make it look worse, but losing 2 receptions and 20 yards per game is not going from amazing to invisible. We do need a deep threat next year though, this year it is what it is at this point.

While Moss was here Welker's numbers in 4 games were

26 receptions 217 yards 8.34 yards per reception 3 tds.

Since Moss left in 4 games

18 receptions 138 yards 7.66 yards per reception 0 tds.

His YAC in the first seven games are as follows.

Bengals 6.6
Jets 4.5
Bills 6.8
Dolphins 4.3
Ravens 4.0
Chargers 2.8
Vikings 3.0

With Moss gone, Welker draws the other team's #1 CB. The lack of YAC tells me the field is no longer being stretched.

However, Welker being shut down isn't a bad thing. What Moss was to Welker; Welker is now to Hernandez.

Well lets have a look at that.

First 4 games for Hernandez

18 receptions for 240 yards at 13.3 ypr

Last 4 games

16 receptions for 196 yards 12.25 ypr

His YAC for the first 7 games(I don't have the yac from today for anybody)

Bengals 30.0
Jets 12.0
Bills 2.7
Dolphins 5.8
Ravens 6.3
Chargers 5.2
Vikings 8.0

Yeah your right im soooooo sorry , i forgot that i cant be critical here.. if we dont bow down to the pats , which they have played well up until today , we are not worthy of your opinion... this team was a utter disapointment today... no way we lose 20 points to a team that had a third string QB... this defense was inept , as usual it falls on the coach.. Gronkowski today was awful.. 3 drops and 1 fumble.. Brady was off as well, but there is no running game besides Woodhead.. This was a game that they needed to win... Pitt , Indy Det, and the jets are going to be dogfights this was a game they should have won.. but they did not show up, lets just hope they show up next week and make this discussion moot, but the way the offense has played, it cant help a young defense...

Critical? You are 1000 times worse than critical and you have yet to bring a damn thing to a thread you've commented in..

If you can't see with your own eyes that Wes Welker's production has been seriously hurt by the loss of Moss then look at the numbers because they tell you that too.

Trying to suggest that he is no 100% and thats the sole reason for his loss of production is just wrong.
