Every pick has made sense, and honestly under Belichick I’d assume we’d have drafted at least one DB with a prolonged injury history and have used one of the day two picks on a guy projected to go later today
Look at how the KC Chiefs are drafting.

They are taking risky players.

When you have a complete team, you're much more willing to swing for the fences.

I think of Easley as the poster child of that bust-draft era from 2014-2019.

A lot of swing for the fences picks.

KC has gone for Wiley (speedy but thin), Worthy (fast as heck but raw), Sumataiia (very raw), Hardman (super fast), Karlaftis (super athletic, has not played much football), Uzomah (lightning fast but thin), Skyy Moore (fast, no routes), Edwards-Hilaire (lightning fast, small and weak).

The Chiefs are drafting undeveloped types and going for speed. They have a lot of busts.

This is what picking at the end of rounds is going to do to you.

Watching him real quick and......kind of looks like a day 1 starter. I can easily see him beating out guys like Robinson, Bradbury, and Strange.

I don't believe that Strange will be competing for the Starting Center position.. I believe that Strange will be competing for the Starting LG position.

I also don't believe that Wilson will be competing for the starting LG position, but will be playing against Bradbury and Brown.

Local sport stalk radio, particularly Bertram and Felger, both bash Campbell daily & ruthlessly.. they have reduced him to T-Rex...
My view it was a convergence of the Pats greatest need and the best available LT...
Excellent. This is a really good sign. I clearly remember Felger bashing Randy Moss every day until Felger finally drove him out of town. So my advice to Campbell, don't listen to Felger. Criticism from him means you are going to do great.

felcher was probably pissed because moss mooned his beloved meat packer fan base and org. turnabout is fair play. you moon us we moon you. def not disgusting like that dip joe buck tried to say.

I miss Joker going nuts over Bills picks

He would be happy with this year's choices. And as he looks down from above, I'm sure he's glad for being spared the Mayo debacle. His rants over that would've been epic.

Swinging for the fences is fine, drafting guys 2-3 rounds ahead of their projection is idiotic. And I can think to a handful of times what Belichick did went beyond “swinging for the fences” and instead seemed like a massive FU to the drafting process

If Cole Strange is expected to be. 3-4 round pick why would you take him at the end of the first? Especially when only two other guards went in the next two rounds?

That’s not swinging for the fences, it’s ego.

The Patriots weren't good anymore when Strange was picked, so there was no swinging for the fences.

The drafts were better the last several years, though with the coaching changes, we're going to see those players (Onwenu, Dugger, Strange, move on soon).

We've beaten this Strange thing to death. The Patriots explicitly said there were no trades available and wanted to trade down. Strange was considered a high 3rd, but more than the Patriots liked him earlier. Probably graded a mid 2nd.

Now go back and look at the 2022 draft. Who do you see from 30 on until the mid 2nd that you would have taken instead?

Are you asking me with the benefit of hindsight or draft day 2022? Because I’m sure as hell not going to pretend to remember who was a better pick on the board via the draft nicks

I've not only memorized the arguments at this point, I've had this thing permanently imprinted on my brain. That's how dead this horse is.

Well I truly hope you find purpose in life

Karlaftis, daxton hill, Alec pierce, George Pickens...

Lmao. “ wingspan?” This is the first year I havevever heard the term “ wingspan” applied to prospects, and I have followed the draft my entire life. Name one offensive lineman who plays with both arms outstretched wide? It doesn’t happen.
Wingspan has always been part of the draft process. This year, however, the Nancies latched onto it as a way to hate on Campbell since his arm length at 33" is actually not that short.

People are saying Wilson isn't great in the run game? Whether at c or g, he's gonna be a pulling machine. Our rbs will have to sprint to keep up with him.

Randy wasn't driven out of town because of that ****!y Loudmouth, WTF did you hear that?

Pickens is a Mental Defective, how many fkn times do you guys need to be told that?
Do we have to tell you fifty fkn times because you don't pay attention elsewhere?

GFC, you Pickens people are fkn pathetic.

Bah

Then you havent been paying attention, i've heard it used often and its more important then the arm length everyone has been losong thier minds over. The most important thing an offensive lineman can do is be big and wide so its harder for a defensive lineman to get around them. In pass protection its all about making the angle they have to get around longer, its why a buzz phrase for DEs is bend or getting around the corner fast, and why wingspan matters. Yes you never see them playing with both arms spread wide but you do frequently see them playing 80% spread to balance taking away the outside and not get too far in case they do an inside counter. The bigger the wingspan the better you can take away both outside speed rushes and inside counter power moves. The issue with Campbell that does show up on tape is he has to pick one or the other and for a skilled passrusher with multiple moves (you know the vast majority of NFL players) he has to overcompensate one way or the other and makes up for his lack of width with excellent torque and footspeed.

Wilson will work at all 3 IOL spots and figures to be first man off the bench at all 3
Brown can only hope to make the practice squad

A couple of inches of wingspan it irrelevant. No one blinks with theirvatnd outstretched horizontally. If they do they are already beaten and an inch longer finger isnt helping.

Campbells wingspan is an oddity (by a couple inches) for a guy his size. But it will have no impact on his play.
Techniques, strength, quickness, agility, attitude, and coach ability are what matters not minor differences in how far your maximum horizontal reach is.
