Re: A warning.

If Favre plays, his foot will be wrapped and he'll be shot up so he won't feel a thing. Will be interesting to see how mobile he is....and all out blitz early would get him uncomfortable in the pocket. Can't let him sit there and not test his leg. Stop AP and make Brett run around is the answer.

Deaderick and Cunningham could be big here...

Pats have to play well to win....they can't put up a stinkeroo offense like at SD and pull this out...

JMHO

Re: A warning.

Many of you out there are thinking Brett Favre will throw two, three, or even four interceptions.
In fact, some of you seem like there's no chance he won't play sixty minutes without an x number of interceptions.

You might be setting yourself up for a disappointment, as it IS possible for him to go a game without throwing an interception.

Now, I'm not saying he won't.
But relying on him to make these turnovers for a victory might not a smart thing to do.

Just hoping that this thread is enough to stop some possible "0MG, WE'R3 IN TRUBLE CUZ EVEN FAVRE DEDNT TURNOVER THE BALL AGANST OUR DEFANSE!!1!!1" threads after tomorrows game.

Well, it is possible he hobbles off after the first play of the game, thus preserving the most important fact of the day to him, ESPN and Peter King.

BTW, with all the media focus today, who is the anonymous team that Brett Favre is playing today?

I predict a Pats win. I expect coaching to be the difference.

Not sure, but I'm sure they don't deserve whatever wins they have.

I think it's the New England team.

Wonder if they will line up before the game outside Brett Favre's lockerroom to wait for an autograph? Maybe if the New England coach goes in first and makes a request, Brett will accept one or two players to enter for a brief meet and greet.

And not BB and the others in the team? oh shucks...

Friggin Favre will no doubt fail to help us whenever we hope he would. So, I am expecting a close game.

Re: A warning.

thanks for the warning.

Nikolai: Your sig is amazing. I hope we get to see a charred Vikings helmet after today.

Re: A warning.

The Patriots should forfeit the game.
Just like the Dolphins, Ravens, and the Chargers, the Vikings are too powerful!

If the vikings come in and lay a wooping on us, it is gonna take me a month to recover.

..I am gonna ask anyways, any word on Chung?

i'm allready ready too for the game that i will see 'live' at h 9,15 pm italian time (today we are lucky) at h 6 pm i will see the London game between 49ers and Broncos

Sirius magic Radio guys said that Favre would be dangerous this week because he was actually listening to childress and would follow the game plan because with all the HC talk and T Jackson talk, the coach's basic message to Brett was that Favre would/could be benched if he continued to deviate too much. The couple seasons where Favre played under some semblance of control, he was dangerous.

Just our luck to get the one game where Favre doesn't "just go out there and have fun".

That said, color moi skeptical. I expect a blizzard of picks notwithstanding the brilliant thread "Warning" posted here.

i dont think he has ever thrown a blizzard of picks vs the pats .not sure has thrown one. he is going to be very motivated and focused and more importantly he has a very good offense and they are playing a D which has its own learning curnve. thats what is scary.

Isn't every day a public holiday in Italy?

Re: A warning.

I thought it was unimaginative and mediocre at best, but that's just me. It reminded me of monotonous high school level jock humor. Oh well, where tha heck do I think I'm posting anyway? Not a board full of deep thinkers, that's fer shur, sociologically speaking.
It wasn't exactly a Voltairesque quip but the part about the parents coming home from bowling is what got me. Sorry, guess I'm just a sucker for all kinds of humor, including the immature kind

Can't believe i agreed with Tom Jackson who said Cildress has no spine, Favre will play if he wants too.

Also a special shoe was made for Favre to protect his LT foot, and that Favre said if he made the trip hes going to play. Sounds to me like if he wasn't going to play he'd stay home and not travel with the team. What kind of team mate is that.

i would love it but the reality is, infortunately, very different...

and, personally, i work much more now compared i was younger

but now i'm allready ready for Pats game so let's relax / hopefully not like last sunday...

Gameday weather conditions could be a factor in the long passing game (or for those with developing arthritis). It will be 50 at game time but will drop into the 40's as the sun sets and there will be a wind chill with gusty 20mph winds out of the WNW throughout that could impact the kicking game as well. One of the draws for Brett was the dome in Minnesota as he has tended to fade down the stretch in colder outdoor climates as he ages...

3 Steps to Beating Minnesota today:

1) TACKLE (as in BOTH arms) AP (yeah, YOU Merriweather)

2) Jam Moss at the LOS time and time again

3) Hit the old man all day (ala 2009 NFC title game)

That is all...

I don't expect the Pats will play a whole lot of "relax"-type games this year! Pretty much every week looks to have plenty of excitement.

On today's game — Reiss has mentioned a few times that wind might be a factor. Twitter:

Orange flags atop goal posts dancing here at Gillette. Wind will be something to watch in kicking game & maybe the deep passing game (Moss).

Twitter / Mike Reiss: Orange flags atop goal pos ...

Be nice to see some Favre panic heaves drift or DBs' way.

i agree: this year we will have to suffer for any victory i think...

but to be 5-1 now is really really good considering how the schedule looked , and still looks, tough

but defense is playing much more better then what i honestly expected: a good signal imho
