If the Pats win that could drop them to 4th or 5th.

So. What. Or they could pick first and blow it. Or pick fourth and do better.

All these anxious nancies wetting their panties over draft fantasies give me a stiff pain. The Patriots need offensive linemen -- use the first- and second-round selections on best tackles available, then after that best available athlete. Period, end of story.

Just remember what the hell got us to your draft dweeb candy land: becoming the crappiest franchise under the crappiest coaching staff imaginable. Whatever "rookie savior" comes to Foxboro will be wasted if Mayo is back, that much you can count on.

The draft is a gamble. In your reply you suggest the 4th pick could be better than the 1st. If so, then doesnt it make sense to have multiple chances at getting the picks right?

Trade down from 1. Its the absolute highest chance of success. One player versus 4 players. If both options end up being successful, then the latter is an exponentially better result.

Kraft absolutely needs to step in right now and tell Mayo that he will remove this final game from the equation when it comes to his post-season review.

He needs to have a conversation with Mayo behind closed doors telling him to rest our starters/vanilla gameplan and that the 1 overall pick is more important for the future.

Of course you tell the media "we're trying to win" - otherwise you can get penalised pretty heavily I'd imagine by the league.

But this is 100% on Kraft now to step in and have that conversation, it would be gross negligence to forgo a haul of top draft picks. Otherwise Mayo is going to be fighting his best for his job, as any of us would be - which will leave us without a haul as we lost by a FG on the road to the Bills starters recently.
How can the Bills be thought of as "trying to win the game" when they sit all or most of their starters for all or most of the game?

I think 4th is likely the worst, if Lions win tonight it's guaranteed, If Lions lose then Jags would still need all 5 meaningful SOS games next week to go their way to catch us. Possible but not likely.
Interestingly., The Giants and Titans both play teams that will rest starters.
Browns against Ravens is only game of 3-win teams where they are playing a team that should try to win though the Ravens should lose to play the Texans on the road vs winning and playing Chargers at home, but they won't.

Even if Pats win they may very well end up #2 pick but 1-4 range almost for sure.

Despite having the No. 2 seed locked up, #Bills HC Sean McDermott said Josh Allen will start Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots, though he’ll only play a limited amount of time to keep his consecutive start streak alive.

Ari meirov

I thought he might. Sorta like a preseason game. 2 series, hopefully 2 TDs, and then Trubisky can hang on from there.

Over under of the average resale ticket price on game day: $4.99
This will drop. I bet we get $1 tickets by Sunday.

Going to this game right behind the pats bench. Taking suggestions for a sign .

I don’t mind working around the draft, trading down and what not. But I’m 110% in on first two picks need to be to protect the Kid. He’s for real. He could be here for twenty years !!

Wanted to see what the atmosphere was like among the fans in the attendance.

It was dead -- not much to cheer for, as you know. I was kind of surprised there wasn't much booing but near the end you could hear "Fire Mayo" chants break out here and there. Mayo letting the clock run out to end the game when they were in scoring territory pissed me off. Hell, why not try to score? He just gave up and THAT earned some well-deserved boos.

I'll be there again Sunday because a buddy arranged to go with me months ago. But, I can't recall a more worthless game in my 31 years as season ticket holder.

Yes, yes, yes, I understand all that. I just hate the position this team put itself in through sheer incompetence from ownership-down. Aside from that, I never have considered the draft an end unto itself. At best it's a calculated gamble. I see the draft as incidental to whatever happens after a season in which, hopefully, all efforts/resources are focused on winning football games.

I’m glad you feel well enough to attend!
