NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 17: NFL Other Games

Reporter said Diggs was on the sideline trying to re-focus his teammates along with Daboll, before they realized it just wasn't going to happen.

Do the referees count as league officials? Who was in their ear tonight?

Diggs trying to get the players refocused to continue the game may have just been his wishful thinking once Hamlin had been taken to the hospital. Could be Not enough context to make a determination, imho.

You said the NFL got forced into it, as if to imply that the NFL was trying to force them to play. I'm not an NFL apologist I just hate rage bait for the sake of brownie points.
I said the players and coaches forced the NFL into postponing the game. I never said the NFL was trying to force them to play. I believe you're not an apologist, sorry for that.

I can't imagine the ownership is just going to give up a gate like that.
Or the Steelers simply allow their playoff hopes to be discarded like that. I mean that literally hands us a playoff spot. I don't have the answers here, but that doesn't seem like something that should happen.

I thought that the NFL severally improved the testing that it gave players when it came to their physicals. Isn't that how they found the issue with Cannon and with other players? (Star Lotulelei, Montez Sweat, etc)

Showing my medical ignorance here: Could the adrenaline in a player's body from participating in said play have a delaying affect on the body reacting to the VFib?
They have I am sure. When you paying those salaries an ECG and echo are cheap. But some cardiac issues are hard to pick up. Or you could get an acute viral cardiomyopathy. Christian Erickson’s heart condition was undiagnosed and he was being paid millions.

I mean, the Steelers had a chance to beat the Patriots in Pittsburgh earlier this year and didn't. That sort of loses any crying creedence in my mind.

I don't think Kraft would give them a hard time about the Patriots cut. Don't know about the Bengals but honestly that gam has already sailed. If they forfeit Sunday can be their buy and a change to get their mojo back. Patriots may make the playoffs but honestly we all know that they won't go anywhere. Bills taking next Sunday off and having an effective bye gives them a better chance to win it all which they are certainly talented enough to do. I really like this Bills team and of all the other teams, would most like to see them win it all.

I don't know that he would give them a hard time, Kraft can eat that money, I'm not sure the Pegulas can. I do know that NFL Owners are generally ghouls, as are the rest of the league in New York. The Bengals already made their money from the gate and parking tonight.

I get it, it just sounds like the NFL didn't want to postpone it and everyone else forced their hand. It's whatever, I won't keep filling up the thread with an argument. I have a little sympathy for everyone involved in a situation like this is all

Man. Out of the 14 team field Buffalo is 14 on my teams I'd wanna see win it all list

Apparently not on a consistent basis. Cyrus Jones had a blood clot and was on blood thinners while with the Ravens in 2019, and they still didn’t discover his heart defect. That happened about six months later when he was with Denver, where it sounds like they’re used to checking things extra carefully due to the altitude.

If Hamlin dies or is brain dead, no way the Bills play you guys next week. I think we just forfeit the last two games. And I bet not even all the players would be there mentally for the playoff's.

If he does not wake up, our season is over I think...

NFL will not let Buffalo forfeit next week. The Steelers, Dolphins, Jags all have shots at the playoffs. There’s no way the owners/league would be ok with a playoff spot being decided this way.

And all of that doesn't matter. Human life > football
