NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Week 17: NFL Other Games

On the heels of the highly publicized Tua incidents, you can bet what happened tonight will have implications.
What implications can it have? The medical staff were there immediately and did their job as best they could from the sounds of it.

Wasn't a bad hit so simply something underlying or purely bad luck resulting in such a horrific scene. Nothing needs to be made of this other than hoping the player is okay.

for some reason I don't think he did it... I'm sure the Bills were like **** that ****...
Yea, probably told him to f*ck off.

I know this won't happen, but I'd cancel the season if he ends up dying. It would be in really poor taste to continue the season.
can't see that happening, no way

That’ll never happen, NFL is a business they care more about profits over players.

Did the league really tell the players to get on the field in 5 minutes? Fack Goodell.

Just their original reaction of “5 minutes” to get back to the game was crazy to me. But that could’ve been before they started cpr and realized how bad it was.

that likely was the referee’s decision…of course he didn’t have a clue what was going on with Hamlin medically

There is no world where that happens but postponing everything for a week must be in play. Means no bye before the Super Bowl maybe. Who knows.

I had a friend suffer a heart attack two days ago, was put in a medically induced coma and had his core temperature reduced to reduce the swelling. Unfortunately he passed 24 hours later.
Damn man, so sorry to hear.

Nor should it.

The fact people can't figure this out is astonishing lol.

Goodell probably wasn't even called by that point.

Come on, now.

Delay a week and cancel the ****ty pro-bowl or just push it to after the SB.

I am sure that the league has established protocols for major injuries. Immediate time out of X, followed up by a league decision as info becomes available. They probably even have a set protocol for a death on the field. This, though, was a different animal - having to go full-on emergency service, CPR, shock, etc., probably wasn't in the book.

Thread on the Bills board
I can't even imagine, and the reactions I read would mirror how we'd all feel. I mean, I remember how I felt finding about about Bruschi's stroke, and that was in the offseason (I think that happened in February...?), I can't even imagine seeing it happen live to anyone from the Patriots. My reaction would have been the same as their fans, the game means nothing. All that matters is the well-being of the player.

2 week postponement. No way they cancel it.

Good Lord, no.

This is a terrible moment, but cancelling the season? That would be quite the overreaction.

I have no idea how these guys are going to be able to play fearlessly after seeing this. I can't imagine what those locker rooms must be like right now, especially the Bills.

I mean general implications for the NFL going forward. Possibly how the game is played, which already is under a renewed microscope from the Tua incidents. But we'll see.
