looks like they’re postponing the game? Bill’s equipment staff putting up equipment. Diggs was in a towel.

Equipment being put away.

There is no way they can cancel the game completely. It's either Bills forfeit or they finish at another date.

Bills staff putting equipment away. Hopefully some good news comes along and they get this game played tomorrow.

Looks like the Bills are packing up sideline gear?

Bills look like they're leaving. Staff packing up stuff on the sidelines.

Yes, they finished the game. I don't know how soon word was available that Hughes was gone. This was 1972, communication was a tad slower then.
Jesus. That’s crazy. That’d be a horrible decision to finish the game. It can easily be moved.

I remember something similar in Hockey, player got hit in the chest with a puck and went down with some sort off cardiac problem, don't remember the specifics.

Bills equipment staff is gathering the equipment up...that's it for tonight

I do think their only realistic option is to resume tomorrow now, I don't think it'll be any better for the players really but it's the best way forward all round (including completing the season fairly) tbh, regardless of what happens to Hamlin.

Best case good news is made available before tomorrow, otherwise will still be a tough game for both sides but can't see how they push it beyond tomorrow if the league still want to complete the season next weekend.
Maybe play tomorrow night and then move the Bengals last game, and Pats-Bills, to Monday night.

ER doctor here.

What happened was almost certainly Commotio cordis, where an impact on a precise portion of the electric impulse of the heart induces ventricular fibrillation, which is a pulseless rhythm that is amenable to shock. He got CPR right away which reduces the risk of anoxic brain injury. He will now be in a medically induced coma and have his core body temperature reduced to reduce brain swelling and if all goes well, could be taken off the ventilator within days. Not much more can be learned tonight about his condition unfortunately.
I had a friend suffer a heart attack two days ago, was put in a medically induced coma and had his core temperature reduced to reduce the swelling. Unfortunately he passed 24 hours later.

No need to move both games just for 1 day surely? Just play this tomorrow night and these two teams lose a day between games, so much hassle for fans if the games get moved.

Sorry for your loss, man.

I’m sorry to hear that, how old was your friend

Just to repeat: You've got a lot on your plate. People like myself, who have someone on ignore, can just go out to the "Forums" level and refresh until the thread started by the ignored person comes up. It's a pain in the ass, but that's a pain in the ass for us, who made the decision, not for you, who'd have to do extra work to incorporate the functionality. So please don't put yourself out on my account.

Holy crap, given the life and death situation that is happening at the moment, are you on the spectrum?

.
