On a serious note Vegas losing was big for us. One of our playoff scenarios allows for us to lose next week but the Raiders have to lose a game as well.

Am I reading this correct, that if Pitts loses to Balt tonight, the PAts could lose to Buff and make the playoffs if Jets beat Miami???
I think there were two previous occasions where we needed the Jets to step up in the last week of the season and it didn;t happen (IIRC and 2008 and maybe 2002?)

To make the playoffs with a loss to
Buffalo:

-Steelers need to lose either this week or next (Bal then Cle)

AND

-Jaguars need to beat the Titans

AND

-Jets beat the Dolphins.

I'm not sure but I know now that the Steelers losing is one of the requirements in one of the scenarios

Jets lose today (happened) beat Miami next week (tbd)

Raiders lose of their two games (happened)

Steelers lose one of their next two games (tbd)

Jags beat the Titans (tbd).

Two of the five things happened. Jags beating the Titans is not a longshot but the Jags really don't have much to play for. Jets playing spoiler for Miami is also a thing. Jets have nothing to play for but they can get crazy now since they have nothing to lose. Both Steelers games are 50/50 to me

Playing around with the ESPN playoff machine, Dallas still has a shot at the NFCE title if the Eagles lose to the Giants next week and Dallas beats Washington (both are likely IMO). This means TB would end up playing Philly, not Dallas like everyone is predicting.

ANd if Buffalo loses tomorrow to CIncy, they drop down to the 3 seed. Do they try against the Pats and allow the Dolphins in or do they rest their starters and allow the Pats in?

If the Patriots make it to wild card weekend they’ll be playing in Cincy, KC or Buffalo. Is it weird to prefer a matchup in Arrowhead over the other two?
