At this point a college team might pose a challenge for us
Mayo probably urged the team to "challenge themselves." They evidently understood him to mean that they should defeat themselves. In effect, perhaps he did. Nice guy, though: a great travel companion, one hears.

I haven't really looked at them myself but relying on some people that scout online that I think are pretty good at it.
Campbell could be an all-pro guard but likely arms too short for tackle.
Emery Jones: 3rd round pick.
I did not love Banks in the 1 game I watched but that was his worst game last year. He's worth a shot in the 20's or later but not top 10.

Josh Simmons was on my radar until the injury but might make him slip to round 2. Could be a steal there.

LT of the future might need to come in 2026.
Didn’t scar said arm length is overrated? I used to argue people here using this argument because I think it does matter

I'm just gonna hope Maye doesn't get injured this week.

This team - players, coaches, GM - with the exception of Maye and couple of players - is complete ********. We are are demonstrably, empirically the worst team in the league. I'm fed up with all the pretense otherwise.

Covington is on the hot seat. Can the Patriots stop the run? If not, then that opens up play action passing. Long day.

It’s insane that a co DC who implemented the scheme designed by the other co DC is HC with no experience. And his current DC was a position coach with zero coordinator experience.

Unforced errors just because of the exceptional bonhomie of Mayo and the image that he was a Hot Ticket.
Mayo being a hot ticket was purely the creation of the Kraft PR machine. Now that we have enough hours of hearing him talk on record, it looks like he was (temporarily) saved some embarrassment when they blocked the 1 or 2 token interviews he had lined up.

Line play is essentially structured combat. I boxed in college. I had lousy skills but a long reach, and that was the only reason I was not even worse a boxer than I was. I think it does matter, though pantytwisting over a quarter-inch here and there is kinda silly.

I looked it up and tackles with arms under 33 inches have not been to a pro bowl in a very long time.
Almost all the tackles drafted with under 33 inch arms ended up being guards in NFL and many of them were elite at guard
After researching it a bit, It was pretty definitive that your chance of success is very small.
Could he be a once in a lifetime outlier like Drew Brees was as a short quarterback? Of course, but why pick someone that high to play tackle when the odds are so low.
Don’t know his actual arm length at this point either but many speculate 32 1/2 area

From 2021 article has some data

Couple questions:

What does demonstrably mean?
What does empirically mean?
And what does pretense mean?
