And just as a reminder, they had Baker Mayfield, who had just led them to the playoffs for the first time in forever, on the roster, and would have signed for an affordable contract.

Mayfield, who led the undermanned Bucs to the playoffs last year, and looked pretty damn good today, I might add.

Speaking of garbage QB statlines...

Despite playing most of the game in "garbage time", Deshaun Watson has a statline of 23/44 (52% comp pct) for 162 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs

I remember reading months ago when AVP was hired he was the problem there... Seems like Watson is just ass and washed now

Supposedly the owner wanted to dump AVP because he wasn't getting enough out of Watson. Turns out, he got a lot more out of Watson than whoever replaced him today... him and the other 54 QBs they used last season

I had that game on full screen on a second monitor, 1 of the most "carried by his d/st" games I can remember watching. A lot of "1st read not there, feel ghost pressure and scramble around and force a throw" plays and his overthrows oooof

None of the rookies really did well either. Jayden was the best, but his numbers looked better after getting some nice drives in garbage time.

rookies, 1 game... be worth looking at half way thru the season... we should be able to tell if the game has slowed down for any of them
