True, but the chargers O is vastly superior to ours

I was replying to the poster who said the Dolphins roster is way better than the Eagles. The Eagles have a better OL and a better DL. Skill position players arguable. AJ Brown and DeVonte are every bit as good as Hill and Waddle. Not saing we'll beat the Dolphins because every game is different but roster wise, I would take the Eagles team over the Dolphins every time.

I’ll be honest going in I had Philly winning, I wanted a competitive game and we got one. If Booty makes that catch I believe they finish the drive with a TD and win the game, it’s a game of inches.

Stoked about White, he’s gonna be a major problem the more experience he gets.

Gonzo more than held his own against two of the better WRs in football, his break up at the end of the game was awesome.

Lots of good things to take away from this game.

Nothing to feel bad about. We were right in it until the end, against a superbowl team, no less.

Quick thoughts
O line was good.
A lack of mobility and arm strength are Mac's weaknesses. I liked a good deal of what I saw from him today but he still comes out way to amped to start games. Poor throws are common from him in the first few of drives of many of his games.
The D played well enough for us to win this game.
Some dumb penalities early cost us. Same as last year.
Our coaching was awful. Same as last year. Not kicking that field goal was the most perplexing call I've seen out of our head ocach in a long time. It cost us four point when it forced us to go for the the unlikley 2 point conversion from 12 yards out.
Four easy points thrown away and all it would have taken was a field goal when our D gave us back the ball with two minutes left.
This one is 100% on Bill

They may get better, but you look at the personnel and whats the realistic ceiling for the offense… Just my opinion its not that high. Theyll be good enough to move the ball fairly well and flash here and there, but games like this against the top teams will be full of these gotta have it plays. Without a truly dynamic threat the same thing will happen.

I feel one of two things need to happen. We find the next edelman or gronk… or you need to build a dominant ol to allow rham to take games over and kill teams with pap. I dont think either are coming this year. And its not a complaint about our moves or lack of moves. We focused on d this year and thats fine, I mean we saw how good they are (so far). But in todays game you need more talent than what we have offensively… unless you have a mahomes at qb.
Philly was in the Super Bowl last season. I'm going to give it a few months before I reach such a conclusion.

Bill sure is making his share of head scratching game decisions the last few years.

Arguably the GOAT coach but all of the greats have their best before date. Makes you wonder.
Seems like sports coaches and politicians are the only fields people think 70 year olds can perform like 50 years old. And the answer is they don't. Coaching takes a lot of effort, mental and physical, and a 70 year old is never at their best.

Proud of the fight today. I sincerely hope you are right and I have underestimated our ability, either at the skill positions or what the OL is capable of when strange and onwenu return.

A lack of mobility and arm strength are Mac's weaknesses.
I completely disagree with both of these statements. His mobility was excellent today, and the rocket on the skinny post TD to Bourne should prove to everyone that his arm strength is just fine. Both of these narratives are nonsense.

Nah, even at 0-4 if the other AFC "contender" teams are having a rough go so far they might still be fine. But I doubt they go 0-4 after today's look. 2-2 feels pretty reasonable, but I could see 1-3.
Yeah guess more so I look at the division and how they likely need 2 of the 3 other teams to fall short on expectations to be sure of being in the wildcard mix. That’s before even thinking about what the Pats themselves are doing. Then there are the other divisions, and considerations of those who likely have multiple playoff teams. They don’t have as much margin for error as would hope for if they want to sniff the postseason, let alone make an impact.

Tough loss, but I want to thank Mother Nature for stopping the rain before the Brady halftime celebration

Yeah mac’s mobility imo is pretty underrated. He has turned many first downs with his legs. Arm strength could be better but its not a dealbreaker. My biggest issue with him is some of the sacks he takes.

He is a viable starting QB at the NFL level but hasn’t yet shown his team can win because of him. QBs are leaders and top QBs need to show they can do that.
Fair enough, I should have been a little more clear on my statement. My expectation of a starting quarterback is that he had the talent to get a team consistently into the playoffs. If he can't, you're looking for a new starter. Other teams may be happy with just the league average starter that can deliver a .500 record, but I personally don't consider that a starter. Personally I'm not expecting a QB that can carry his team, those are very few and far between, but one that consistently makes passes that playoff-caliber receivers can make good plays on. If I had to think of a comp, more or less, I'd go with a healthy Matthew Stafford or a healthy Jimmy G.

You are welcome to disagree all you want. I will agree with you that his pocket awarness was better tonight than we have seen from him since 2021 but the old problem of no foot speed and lack of pocket awareness reared its ugly head in the 4th quarter. If you want to assert that Mac has a strong arm, you are more than welcome to do so. He underthrew receivers tonight and tossed up too many rainbow air balls. I like the kid and want him to do well. But his weaknesses/issues are there in plain daylight.

Missing the mark IMO.

No one who watches a lot of, or played football has an issue with Mac’s arm between the numbers.

He can throw on platform and drive the ball there.

It’s outside throws where arm strength really becomes obvious.

That’s where he struggles.

He struggles with his consistency. The throw on the deep out to Boutee was fine. It's not arm strength, it's consistency.

Excellent fight shown by the Pats. Missing Parker, and three starting Olinemen, and to lose by 5, yet almost pulled off the comeback, is very encouraging. I thought Mac played very well, made a few bad throws, but some amazing throws as well. The defense was excellent. To hold THAT OFFENSE to 1 offensive TD and 4 FGs is awesome.

Those who complain about this one as a moral victory, well this is one case where it was a true moral victory. With the people missing, I expected a blowout loss. Never thought the Oline would give Mac the time to throw. Also, bravo to Mac for getting the ball out fast, that’s one of his strengths.

Bravo to the rookie defenders as well as the rookie Olinemen. Thought Gonzo, White and Mappe were excellent. Longest play for one of the best offenses in football was only 23 yards.

Not only is this not true, that wasn't the problem today.

Kay but the point is you kick a field goal and then kickoff for a touch back and **** is largely the same as turning it over on downs
I kinda buy what the announcers were selling, it's not clear the staff has a lot of trust in the rookie kicker in that situation.

This will get the rotten tomatoes out, here it comes:

Edelman does a mean BB voice impersonation, I'd love to hear him do this line!
