What the hell are you talking about? Dorsett beat his man. Brady threw an underthrow (whether deliberate or not), which allowed the defender the opportunity to mug the receiver. FFS, the problem there was that Brady leading Dorsett would have brought the back line of the end zone into play, not that the defender would have been there to make the play.

And in the SB, Brady had Dorsett open, but chose to go elsewhere with the ball. Whether that was because of progression number, or something else, is something we don't know.
You're nuts.

Brady waited to throw because Dorsett was not open. Dorsett barely had a step on the KC DB when Brady threw the ball. The KC player was able to close the gap with no problem.

Dorsett does not get seperation, but keep on making excuses.

Is Hightower worth $7.5M for his 2019 services. Do you think that you could get someone else at that money to take his place?

As of now, our 2019 LB's are Hightower, Van Noy, Bentley and Roberts. Simon is a free agent, and Sam is a wish and a hope. IMO, 2019 will be a bit better than 2018 with Bentley making up for any decreased production from Hightower. And perhaps, we will draft a LB as an upgrade to Simon. Personally, I want us to re-sign Simon.

Why should we create a hole by cutting Hightower? We have a fine SB quality linebacking corps. Let's keep it. [Ditto for the secondary].

Hightower is a tough decision. He is very slow, he is great against the run and on blitzes. He is injury prone. He has a big cap number.

Edelman will be 33
Hogan 31
Patterson 28

Its time to replenish the WR position. Dorsett staring to get it is nothing to count on. 290 receiving yards and 3 TDs in 2018. Hope is not a plan.
Agree 100%. They need a solid #2.

Golden Tate needs to be a priority 1 FA or someone of that stature.

I didn't make an excuse. He's got his man beat, and Brady underthrows rather than throwing towards the back line. But you keep being you.

This is ridiculous.

Dorset played in all 16 games and started 2 games. His start numbers in those games- 12 targets, 5 receptions, 42% catch rate and 0 TDs. 1 game he was shutout 0 receptions and 0 yards.

6 different games Dorset racked up - 0 receptions and 0 receiving yards.

Phillip Dorsett 2018 Game Log | Pro-Football-Reference.com

Im not buying that Dorset is open but Brady wont throw him the ball when Gordon came in off the street and started 11 games putting up games with 130, 100, 96, 81, 70 receiving yards.

Could that be because Gordon was open?

I highly doubt DMac is retiring.. during his pregame speech to the DBs he said " One last time!!!...One last time for 2018 season!!!"

Ht is ''injury prone''. Google HT stats for 7 seasons =12.5 games per year. Last year he only played 5 games, if you take last season away he is playing almost 14 games of 16. Is that injuty prone?

Give me one more time this season where he was worth the $ he’s making. Just one please....take your time.

i.e Allen is a bum. One drive in the SB doesn’t negate two useless seasons for us.

A player's contribution on the field is not measured by how much he is paid. Contribution is contribution. Cap hit is cap hit.
From what we can see, Allen completed the assignments given to him by the coaches very well. So his contribution is good. Hence, he's not "a bum."

Is his contribution worth the cap hit? Perhaps not. But that's not a reflection on him. It is a reflection on management for paying him that much. You seem to have a need for derogatory labeling; perhaps the Patriot's management are the "bums" for overpaying the player for his contribution.

Yes, we need to replace the position. A great plan: someone new, Edelman, someone new, Dorsett, and perhaps Patterson as a utility knife. If you strip Dorsett out of that simply because he doesn't play as a #1 or #2, you only make it weaker.

NE was desperate and lucky or unlucky to get Gordon for nothing.

Time to give Brady weapons in his golden years.

Pats almost traded for him...so why not?
Golden tate is a talented veteran whose skill set is a perfect fit for the Patriots. The only thing he can not do is stretch the field. They could really use someone who is a deep threat to open up the middle.

Not really. This team has done just fine without a deep threat.

What we do need are precise, versatile route-runners who can operate inside and outside the numbers in the short to intermediate distances who gain separation on their own.

At $10 million it would be a bit much, maybe for a few million less.
Yea I'm not sure what his market is. At first glance the WR FA market seems short on supply so he just might get $10m per.

He had around 3 yards of sep after the corner took the bait on the out route. A tad underthrown which was why the corner gets back in time, but a great catch by dorsett consideing the corner was draped all over him when the ball gets there. Who knows if we get the PI flag if he drops it.
