We are on to the Heat and Jimmy Butler.

I’ll consider being a Celtics fan again when everyone that mailed it in tonight is no longer on the roster. Quitting is never acceptable.

Solid demonstration of competent coaching and a team with a competitive, killer instinct against a team with neither.

Should be interesting to see if Boston has the balls to make necessary changes in the chair and to the roster or if it's more of Stevens' boringness.

Sad this team rolled over. Maybe a new coach is what they need to become mentally tougher.

Watch the Nuggets. They are a fun team. Jokic can do it all. Murray is healthy this year. Any Celtics fan can enjoy watching the Lakers lose.

Both Lakers and Celtics getting swept.

It would be an interesting finals with Nuggets being the #1 seed vs the last in the Heat. Both teams are solid.

Yeah I'm all in on the Nuggets right now. A few years in Denver made me a Jokic fan.

That said, in sports sometimes there's a really good regular season team that you can tell is just itching for a loss somewhere in the playoffs and just needs the right team to take it to them.

Extending Mazz was a mistake. I understand the "stability" angle but the team was humming along fine without it.

In time he may become a good coach but he's the wrong coach for this team at this time.

Tatum - all the talent in the world has disappointed me a great deal. Too concerned about stats.

Brown as well.

Horford is done.

This feels like getting swept by the Bucks in 83. Rudderless. Confused. Disconnected

The Heat seem to be better rested than the Celtics. I think that has a lot to do with how Miami rests players during the season and is the main reason why they're a #8 seed.

This is so damn embarrassing. These guys are playing like chickens with their heads cut off. Miami is just toying with them.
This team post all star break was showing us who they were. I believe there will be changes we all can expect.

For the life of me please acquire a true PG!

I believe the team sticks with Muzzulla,
Even though they shouldn't. We have the talent to be a contender, but tatum it's his personality it's he just doesn't possess the killer instinct.

This is gonna go down as one of the biggest choke jobs by a contender in sports history. Not only are we gonna get beat, we aren't even gonna win a single game. While being the heavy favorites.

Not even the biggest choke job in Boston this year ... but I get your point.

The more I think about it... wasn't a choke job at all.. this is the true identity of this team. They were frauds all along. Get this...the Knicks showed enough pride to take Miami to 6 games.

We just quit!

Well we also had the most injured team in the NBA during the regular season as well. Most of these guys had no option outside of resting.

I popped back in for some good-natured **** talking but there’s no real point. I’m no Celtics fan, but I don’t know what team I’m looking at. This isn’t the Celtics team I grew up watching. Plenty of legends in this franchise that wouldn’t just roll over and die like that. Take solace in the fact that we have no answer for Jokic, Murray, or the tempo that Denver likes to play at. I think it’s their year.

Agreed Denver is not my like my team that quit! Denver is a force to be reckoned with. They commit to defense.. they have a heck of a coach in mike Malone..

I think Denver takes it this season, I believe they have the guys in Bruce brown, Caldwell-pope there have the length and athletic ability to contain Miami's JAGs outside of butler.

Just from an outsider perspective - I don’t think Mazz will ever be a good HC. An assistant? Sure. But he’s not HC material. His team is quitting on D, there’s no discernible adjustments, he lets Miami go on long runs before deciding to double Jimmy and they close out like they’re wearing lead shoes when the ball is kicked out to the 3-point line. If the Celts get swept, I’d leave him in Miami and tell him to buy his own ticket home. We’ll have an intern pack up your office and send you a box with your ****.

I think you’re right that they will win, but I think you’re being a bit harsh in calling our role players “JAGs.” Bam is a decent, if soft, PF. He’s not what you want at C if you’re playing a team like Denver, which is where I think we will get abused. The Heat won’t be able to get into the paint at will against them. Getting Herro back will help a bit, if he’s able to go, but he won’t be enough.

Not harsh at all they are JAGs that are playing at a high level.. just like my patriots during the championship years.. we had JAGs for the most part at WR that played at a high level. The guys on Miami won't start on any other team in the NBA. Spolstra has them believing they can be that guy. I heard rumors we were in on Herro this past off season. We need a sharp shooter and a TRUE PG. The smart era is over. We are adding the thier confidence.. we lost all defensive identity. The body language shows me as fan watching... they are more interested in Miami Beach than the heat.

I don't know That Muzzulla will be fired, But if I'm wyc Grousbeck I'm looking at coach Mike bouldenhozer or even doc. Need a coach that commands respect, holds players accountable.

The team started 21-5 and looked like world beaters.

Since then they went 36-20 which is ok but certainly not dominating nor did they play that way.

Their lack of focus and sense of urgency caught up with them.

This team is an embarrassment to everything that Boston sports stands for. We will never win a championship with Tatum and Brown. They don’t have grit. Time to rebuild. I like White, RW3, and Brogdon. Maybe Smart if he is ok being a 6th man. Scrap the 3 point contest offensive system and let’s get some guys that like to play tough.
