Miguel project $20 million plus in CAP room for 2009 with 51 players signed. If Miguel say so, Its SO! :singing::singing:

Yes just over 20 Million....and you are going to use almost 75% of it on a backup QB.

I'll be looking to see how well Gutierrez executes the offense in preseason. I had Cassel well ahead of him last preseason because he wasn't running the offense.

You mean the first team? I don't want to get into it except to say I don't think anyone here really knows what these backups are made of based on exhibition games. There are so many variables.
Everyone was saying patchwork line for Cassel, playing against third stringers for Gutz. Let's face it, it's the coacheds who see them in practice every day that gain the confidence in them.

I'm not saying I know a thing about Gutz except seeing him against some future UPS package handlers. Nevertheless, there's no indication from his size, athleticism, poise and handling by the team that they think he's a stiff. He was cut because they had two other young backups, the younger of which was a recent 3rd rounder and therefore more likely to gret nabbed. Gutz was under the radar, they got him back and he was on the team fairly soon. They've gone pretty long with two before.

I hope he gets a chance. Can't I have a binkie too? Seriously, I think he plays somewhere, somehow if he's got a little of that Troy Brown attitude. Maybe not here, but there are so many putrid QBs out there...

Sorry I missed this thread guys. Now the debate is to where to move this to? How about the Practice Squad forum?

You were sleeping on the job, PATSNUT.

i dont understand why this has gone to the practice squad. i actually posted this before this week's onslaught in the media on what the patriots will do with Cassel. maybe the consensus on this website is that he will be traded, but to toss this to the side as a doom and gloom rookie post does not make sense to me. whoever put this in the practice squad forum should him or herself stay there. this is an open discussion of ideas, and to think this is worse than some other posts simply because those who believe as I do that this is not as cut and dry as most are in the superminority is going too far.

You can have your binky, I was just stating my observations from last preseason. I would like Gutierrez to succeed too and like you I see the physical tools, here's hoping.

after further review, and countless hours of thought, i have come to the conclusion that there is no way in hell we can get rid of this guy. if we have to get rid of seymour and wilfork, it wouldnt matter. you cannot win without a QB.

after this year we can decide on TB and make a decision to trade MC. for the time being, you should all be realistice. MC will be on our team in 2009, no matter the cost

This thread is a classic.
