Walton vs Cowens photo

I can't recall ever seeing those bottom two photos before... Outstanding!

Sure wish Cowens could've stuck around for 1981... That would've been cool...
Dave saw Robert & Kevin in training camp & said, "Okay, these guys are all set."

When we retired his number 18 that season, he shouted, Let's win a championship! We did

The Robert/Kevin move was one of Red's finest.

We can sit here for 3 weeks and come up with all the great moves Red made.

Drafting Larry a year in advance was crazy.

Trading Rick Robey for DJ was another grand theft

Drafting Danny

"The Blue Jays contract is ironclad; impossible to get out of it."

Getting M.L. from the Pistons as compensation for McAdoo

Coach **** Vitale: "We just lost the heart and soul of our team."

And also trading for a damaged-goods Nate Archibald (plus Marvin Barnes, Billy Knight & the draft pick that became Danny Ainge) for Sidney Wicks & his contract (plus Kevin Kunnert, Kermit Washington & Freeman Williams) prior to the 1978-79 season... He was the straw that stirred those 1979-83 teams...

They go to the finals in 82 if Tiny plays G7.

I remember listening to that game on the Armed Forces Radio Network (I was on deployment to Iwakuni JPN at the time) and hearing the Garden Faithful, when it became obvious the Cs weren't winning, begin a "Beat LA" chant for the 76ers...Classy move I thought, though it didn't help them unfortunately...

Sidney Wicks and Curtis Rowe still win every poll as the most hated Celtics by Celtic fans of all time. God they sucked and were both 1st class jerks. They stand out because the Celtics just didn't have many jerks on their teams throughout their history.

I was on a Southwest flight from Vegas with Bill Walton.

He was so tall that he had to bend down standing in the middle aisle where the plane is the tallest.

Jared Allen and Dante Hall were passengers as well behind where I was.

Wasn’t Walton 7’1”, but had himself listed at 6’11”?

There’s a picture of him standing next to the late 7’ 4” Mark Eaton. He made Walton look small.

I'm not sure how high the center aisle ceiling is on a plane, but Walton had to duck his head way down.

How about Minute Bol? 7 - 6 or 7 - 7 and 100 pounds. Played with Mugsy Bouges the shortest guy on the Washington Capitals.
