From PFT:

So I’m reading for the twentieth time the agreement signed on Wednesday by the NFL and Matt Walsh, and something hit me.

The agreement specifically provides indemnity for Walsh with respect to “any alleged audiotaping by Walsh of any of his superiors while employed by the Club.” And that’s surely a reference to the contention from Patriots V.P. of player personnel Scott Pioli that Walsh was fired for secretly recording conversations between the two of them.

At the time, Walsh’s lawyer called the allegation a “complete fabrication.” So if it’s a complete fabrication, why would the indemnity agreement specifically include such activities? If it’s a “complete fabrication,” there’s no need to seek idemnity, is there?

So basically, he is admitting he did audio tape Pioli which is a felony in Massachusetts. How can anything he say be believed now without evidence to back it up.

look further down....

the guy can OUTRIGHT LIE

and get away with it

fu**ing scumbag

the guy better say the truth

if the authorities discover that he illegally taped Pioli without his consent, and that is in fact a felony in Mass., then he can get charged regardless of what his deal is with the NFL or the Pats. Indemnity provides monetary support for any civil suit that can be brought against you but it doesn't provide legal immunity. Only the state or federal authorities have the power to grant immunity.

Yeah, I wonder if indemnity would cover court fees for a criminal case though.

I do think it is strange that he would need indemnity if the allegations are complete fabrications though. I would think it would be Walsh, not the Patriots who would have a slamdunk civil case. Walsh could sue the Patriots for million if they can't back up these claims. Pulbically accusing a former employee of a felony and not have the proof to back it up would go down in history as one of the biggest bone head moves of all time. I don't see Pioli being that dumb.

BTW, the accusations that Walsh secretly audiotaped Pioli is actually far worse than anything the Patriots have been accused of, but has been brushed over by most of the media.

Mike Vick will have a new NFL bunk buddy this summer.

I'm so sick and tired of hearing about this crap, I seriously hope a garbage truck flattens this tool while he's crossing the street. Seriously, this is beyond ridiculous already. Put up or shut the f*ck up.

I wonder if Walsh ever comes back to NE again after this stuff happens...

Actually, that would be the worst possible thing for the Patriots. Then the suspicions that Walsh knew something damning would never go away, and furthermore there would be suspicion of mob-style foul play. Let him just show up and have no new information. That's the only way this will ever end.

If it turns out that this guy has nothing. If everything he had was complete BS. If he opened his mouth to loud and then tried to go away but couldn't, and now all the indemnification was to cover his ass when he says I made it all up.

Can we as fans Sue this guy. The way the St louis fans wanted to sue us.

WHY NOT? Everybody else tried to do that to our team when this entire mess started. WE PATRIOT FANS HAVE A GRIPE TOO!!

I really hope the State comes down on him for this. Wouldn't they do the same to you and I? What is the statue of limitations for this felony?

Wish the title of the thread is corrected to included "alleged" before 'audiotaping'.

Matt Walsh is a Patriots season ticket holder.

He's going to have to watch his back if he ever shows his face in foxborough.

It's a sad commentary on the state of our society that a criminal is given indemnity after committing a felony because he may or may not have information about a team videotaping a practice that probably had little to no value in terms of actual game-preparation.

It's a 6 year STATUTE of Limitations, and any time spent out of the Commonwealth is not counted.

Ugh. ENOUGH of the "sue him" garbage. So what? You want to sue him if he has nothing to drag this entire thing out some more and create an even bigger media circuis than before? I'm sorry, but after last season, that is the last thing I want for this team. Let him come out of hiding and do his thing. If it turns out he has nothing, let him go and take our anger out on 19 opponents next season. Now THAT would be revenge.

I dont mean to be negative about this whole situation cause I've stayed positive about it since this whole thing broke out. And lets make it clear that I do not believe that this idiot has any new evidence incriminating to the patriots.

But what if he did? What if he does have evidence that the Pats did film the Rams before the super bowl?

How would you guys as Patriots fans react?
