Not all this "a good coach is a good coach" ******** again. I thought we left it in the rear-view mirror with Bill's Family & Friends Plan...
That’s exactly what happened with Vrabel last year, he was coaching on offense in an “advisory” role about what he would do if he were playing them on defense. Sounds like that’s all McAdoo is doing, just on the other side. I’ll get worried if McAdoo becomes DC.

Not sure what your deal is, but your take on McAdoo leaves a lot to be desired. McAdoo is given almost sole credit for the work on getting Milton prepped this season and we saw the results of that prep in Milton's start.

McAdoo remaining is a good thing even if he's moving to the defensive side of the ball.

Not to mention he wanted the Giants to trade up to take Mahomes. There’s a lot of revisionist history pretending that everyone knew Mahomes would be great. It’s ********. The dude knows QBs.

Milton will have a career in the NFL because of what McAdoo did.

Given NFL restrictions on communications between coaches and players during the off season, and assuming McDaniels changes the playbook and play calling system, how do Maye and other players get a head start on learning the new system? Are there old playbooks floating around out there they could study?

I don’t think there is any restriction on giving players playbooks.

Thanks. Laugh a little will ya.

Patricia should get into analytics or probably the role that steicher is doing in Rams.

I think he has far too tribal knowledge that could be put to good use by a good HC.

Bill the coach is still rocking it. Bill the GM killed Bill the coach in NE. I think we might have some better draft this season had bill not been fired and possibly a 8 win team. Only issue is would bill have chosen Maye.
There was also the issue that the team was on a 4 year run of getting worse. That makes it hard to believe that the team would have 8 wins last year with him. Bill was done and the offers he isn't receiving from other teams keeps him gone.

Good to know. I stopped reading Boston papers and listening to Boston Sports media about 10 years, and haven’t missed them one bit. I’m only going by what others are saying they said. And I got the impression Bedard was going the Felger route, I.e… just be negative douchebag and make **** up.
I stopped reading the globe in 2003 (or clicking on any links that may be from the globe) after they printed a doctored porn site photo of an Iraqi woman being raped and said it was American soldiers. The editor who allowed it got a promotion to join the WaPo and the politician who gave it to the globe ended up in prison on an unrelated crime.

McAdoo McAdon't McAwill, McAwon't
McAdoo also brought the Celtics Parish and McHale
How was McAdoo involved? I thought that the C's sent the #1 pick to GS (they wanted Joe Barry Carrol) for the 3rd pick and Robert Parish and then used the 3rd pick on McHale, who they were probably going to take at #1 anyway. Just one of the many brilliant moves that Red made over the years.

There's a vast gulf of difference between being the coordinator and just being an advisor probably only working 15-20 hours a week.

The pick traded to GS was the pick they received for McAdoo

On September 6, 1979, McAdoo was traded by the Celtics to the Detroit Pistons for a number one 1980 draft pick (Joe Barry Carroll was later selected) and a number 13 (1st round) 1980 draft pick (Rickey Brown was later selected). This exchange was arranged as compensation for Boston signing veteran free agent M.L. Carr on July 24, 1979. The number one pick Boston received was later traded to the Golden State Warriors who used it to select Carroll. In return, Boston received the #3 overall pick (used to select Kevin McHale) and center Robert Parish.[24][32][33]
