Per Vrabel's presser today. No further details, although he said it is not related to Williams' earlier health scare. Apparently he will miss the Miami trip and someone else will call the defense.

The man is seriously overweight, that likely is behind all this.

Hopefully not out of pocket, but he should retire. Health and family are more important than football

They have to be looking for a new DC at this point any ideas who might be there
No they aren't looking for anyone. Hopefully this doesn't prevent him from returning but if it does they already have their in house plans laid out.

Anything else would wait until off-season.

Hopefully he gets some positive news. I’m pretty sure we will be fine with Zak handling his responsibilities, he’s been doing it for a few months already.

Geez. At least Vrabel seems to have a lot of confidence in Zach Kuhr. Downside is that if Kuhr does do well, he'll definitely get poached for a DC job in a year or two.

I like that better than the other option of him not doing well and being undesirable.

Poached when he could just get the Job this year?? Let's' hope he does well: T Williams should just retire before you know.

Yet another Patriot not ready for the season. What the **** did they do all summer?

There is a point at which you have to take a season off for yourself and for the team.

NFL football isn’t like many other “jobs”…you can’t just regularly work remotely and dip out.

This dude is not healthy and needs to get healthy above all.

Dude is 51. He's not some 25 year old kid who didn't condition during the off-season.

That's a problem I'd like to have right now.

Yep that isn't great news. My guess is he steps away due to health related reasons which absolutely blows.

This place amazes me. The guy had a health issue and all the resident geniuses think it’s their business to tell him what to do with his life.
There isn’t a topic that comes up any more without cringeworthy and embarrassing responses and the volume of them keeps increasing.

Does anyone really think that any person reading this board cares what your medical and retirement advice is to the Patriots DC?
Unbelievable.

Easy for some to say retire when none of us know his financial situation. He’s only 51 and may not have enough saved for retirement. Hopefully he’s ok and gets himself in better shape.
