Handed the tab for a $30,000 dinner to a rookie or younger player who probably makes less than most of the other guys. In these kinds of situations the rookie just has to realize that he is a grown man and tell them it ain't gonna happen. You want lobster and porterhouse and champagne? By all accounts AH was a loner on the Patriots who went his own way, but he was good, so he still got a huge contract, and then managed to **** it all up. But that's a different story. You don't have to acquiesce to that kind of b.s. to make it in the league. Coaches and GMs care about on-field production more than if you're buddy buddy with all the guys.

All i am saying is that standing up for yourself when you can is part of the equation, nothing more. I don't think that victims "ask for it." It was just a crude figure of speech.
