Update: Curran says Belichick has been on the hot seat since 2019

He's rebuilt two teams not one. The Browns were the league doormat, the Patriots had talent left over from Parcells and Pete Carroll.
The browns were not a doormat, Marty made the playoffs 4 years straight right before BBs tenure. Again, your excuses as to why the offenses and teams don’t win at the normal clip won’t fly with me
Brady handpicked the Bucs because they had everything needed to win except a QB and a left tackle. If he chose the Raiders he would have fallen flat on his face... he chose wisely. Going to a new team can be instant, ask Matt Stafford. Turning an entire franchise around is like turning a train around. Apples/oranges
80-90 over 170 games is not a small sample, when you lose on out 30 ppg on offense year in and out, winning is harder, you can thank Brady for providing that all those years

They made the playoffs with the #1 ranked defense... look it up.

Better yet, watch the documentary.
1/5, just like with the patriots w/o Brady. He’s consistent!

Mostly because BB managed the cap well and kept a good team to surround the GOAT for 20 years.
Now he can’t manage the cap or build teams? Did that power go away? Or was Brady incredibly important?

Wait. You think stats matter because of fantasy football? Wow. I guess I see where we are disconnecting. I’m talking about winning football games.

Scoring points, playing well in the red zone and winning the turnover battle is good football not stats.

Who has the most passing yards or highest passer rating is not in the universe of as causational as those things.

Yes, stats can separate guys who are overall effective from guys who are not.
Within those who are effective who threw the most and had the most yards us not how you compare them in terms of who contributed more to winning or losing. Because every 300 yards is not close to the same, because the best qb is usually playing from ahead and therefore throwing less, because many other factors.
No, I didn't say stats matter because of fantasy football. I said stats show competency.

Trent Dilfer won football games, he won a Super Bowl ring in fact... he's arguably the worst QB in history to do so... how did he manage that?

Let me guess. He discovered a bag of magic "clutch" dust and for one magical season he had insane power levels... sound right?

Or maybe the team around him was good and lifted him up... sound more logical?

So why does it apply to Trent Dilfer and Nick Foles but not the elite QB's of the league?

No it’s accepting the reality that the roster had deteriorated by 2019 because of what they did to stay in top so long, and as of last year was not even arguably as good as it had been during that run.

Why were Brady’s numbers in his last 8 games of 2019 Sam Darnold like?
Brady was awful in 2019, happened in 2022 when his commitment was poor in the offseason and attitude was poor in season, no coincidence the results were similar. Now do the other 20 years

There was a coach in-between Marty and Bill and unlike the Patriots Bill hadn't worked there under the previous regime as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator or helped pick players for his defense.

The Browns won 3 games the year before BB arrived there... thats the definition of league doormat.

Brady handpicked the Bucs because they had everything needed to win except a QB and a left tackle.
And a TE, a third WR, and an RB. All of which Brady recruited and all of who made significant contributions in 2020. So wrong again, they didn't have everything needed to win from 2019.

And you say "except a QB" like it's a minor point and it could have been any QB. Give me the list quarterbacks who would have had the reputation to recruit those players and lead that team to a championship.

Brady was awful in 2019 because he was dealing with two separate injuries, why was he injured?

Oh yeah, because his offensive line was a mess, Marshall Newhouse was a disaster at LT and they were old and aging. His weapons weren't great either, he put his trust in AB and AB screwed him and the team over. But magic QB's don't need teammates... they can do it on their own.

and that coach made the playoffs as well, thanks for confirming

The browns were 1-7 when Marty took over mid season and made the playoffs 4 straight years after that. Marty was a better coach for Cleveland than Bill, factually. None of this is relevant as to why they can’t make the playoffs regularly without the not so important qb

Brady was never injured in any of the other years?, he won the Super Bowl in 2020 on a torn mcl. Good argument if you’re brain dead. You are a massive excuse maker

The Bucs led the NFL in passing the year prior with Winston, and the year before that with a combination of Fitzmagic and Winston.

They also had the #1 run defense in football years running and had young DB's who were ready to emerge. They needed a LT.

Gronk, AB... these guys were just gravy.

The Pats made the playoffs in 2021 with a rookie QB.

In Cleveland he was stuck with over the hill Bernie Kosar and finally made the switch to Testeverde and made the playoffs.

The truth is a hazy line you like to cross over without a second thought.

It's not an excuse if it's the truth. An elbow is different than a knee.

Also it's a better excuse than his magic QB dust ran out and his power levels dropped.

Brady had magic powers... we get it.
If that's how you want to characterize the most game-winning drives and fourth-quarter comebacks in NFL postseason history by far then fine. Because the only one actually ever claiming "magic powers" is you.

Sweet, and missed the playoffs in 2000/2008/2020/2023. What do those years have in common?

So not Tom Brady?

I use massive data chunks, if Brady went to Tampa and missed the playoffs 3 years in a row, I’d be saying the same thing about him

Winston literally had 30 INTs so who gives a **** about his passing yards.

Was he alone out there?

On two separate game winning drives in 2001 the same TE (Wiggins) and back (JR Redmond) made clutch plays down the stretch in both the division game agains the Raiders and in the Super Bowl against the Rams. Then their ultra clutch kicker ended both of those games with high degree of difficulty kicks.

Brady was clutch in crunch time, so was the team around him. They were well conditioned, well coached and knew what to do when the pressure was ratcheted up.

Winston literally had 30 INTs so who gives a **** about his passing yards.
He also had the 2nd most passing TD's in the NFL, he had super weapons.

Tampa was the team I was saying in the 2020 offseason Tom should go to for that very reason. Once he did, I instantly said they were the Super Bowl favorites before Gronk or AB were a consideration... so everything I'm saying now I said before Tom chose where he was going.

They were a turnkey team that needed a QB and a LT, they had a high #1 draft pick so the tackle was a given.

So Mac was good enough as a rookie but not good enough as a sophomore... it had nothing to do with Patricia.. he was great. Sounds legit...

One season on a superteam is not a data chunk... that's like saying Lebron going to Miami and winning a ring with Bosh and Wade was a surprise.

Now he can’t manage the cap or build teams? Did that power go away? Or was Brady incredibly important?
He was the GOAT, so yeah but it took both of them to do it for 20 years. He's rebuilding now, we'll see how they do this year and next since the rebuild is almost complete.
They were both responsible for keeping it going so long, is that hard to understand?
