Sure, he offered a discount, but it was not $8M.He must have really disliked the other team. Turning down more than $8M more in guaranteed money over 2 years is nuts.
I think main reason he tailed off in '23Uche had a breakout season in '22.. he tailed off in '23. I believe that affected his value. However he's a good player, home grown in the system.. love his attitude and what he brings as a pass rusher.. I believe he's better suited on passing downs and blitz packages.
That is true. The absence of judon impatied him big time. Uche is a guy you root for just an all around great person. Your right on gonzo.. as heading into to week 3 he was having an all pro caliber season and PFF had him ranked #3 in CBs as a rookie! Impressive. Our front 7 can get busy. Jennings, white, Godchaux, judon, Barmore, Bentley, Tavai.. I can't wait until camp!I think main reason he tailed off in '23
was Judon being out.
Judon makes everyone better.
Guess what? He's baaaaack!
So maybe Uche realizes he can have a monster year in 2024. Dude is,a serious passrusher.
Gonzo being back also helps out everyone on the D.
Symbiosis with cbs and passrushers
is a thing of beauty
I thought that Welker was given the okay to look around for offers but was replaced. So he did the opposite of Wes Welker
Wes took alot of punishment for all that ALL PRO production he had bere. 100 plus catches. I'm sure he's dealing with severe CTE. I only wish he was a big play-off performer like Jules.I agree, but if I remember correctly, Welker was asking for value that didn't exist on the market. He wanted a lot more from the Pats, only to sign with the Broncos for pretty much what the Pats were offering.
Barring any significant injuries to key players.. we project to be pretty stout up front. Uche will benefit from being able to come in and rush the passer.. he's a pass rush specialist, and that's how he will make his $$$ .. being able to sub rush, blitz packages will only help him.. he will be fresh in the 4th quarter when we need a stop on 3rd down..Honestly That has to be his floor barring injuries. 3 sacks and 3 TFL. Tough to hit fa after a year like that. Might as well give yourself one more shot to get a legit payday

Yes sir! I keep saying these guys are the early 2000s patriots defense.. a great group of guys who can dominate when on the field, they are in a sense disrespected especially last year.. no pro bowl selections.. while Barmore and peppers played at ALL Pro levels. White has a motor for days.Definitely a nasty front! Also white showed some flashes last year , could be another major disrupter with judon/barmore/uche
Seriously, why do people do this? Amazing how people blame millionaires for wanting to get paid when the inverse of that is billionaires making more money.
Before anybody talks about cap - it is that way so billionaires make more money.
I don't think he gave such a large discount as it makes no sense. If he did, he is an idiot.
They were the polar opposite of players. Statistically, Welker blows Edelman out of the water making 5 Pro Bowls/2 All Pro's. But his back to back playoff games in 2011 Super Bowl drop followed up by the drop in Ravens territory up 13-7 in the 2nd half of the 2012 AFCCG were brutal. I don't think the returned to Ravens territory after that drive.Wes took alot of punishment for all that ALL PRO production he had bere. 100 plus catches. I'm sure he's dealing with severe CTE. I only wish he was a big play-off performer like Jules.
I smell Jets.He must have really disliked the other team. Turning down more than $8M more in guaranteed money over 2 years is nuts.
Shmurgle?Because people shmurgle the tribalism of fandom with players, as if the player's should have a sentimental loyalty to their employers like we do to our hometown teams. As if professional athletes should feel and behave as high schoolers.
This confusion is happening all through society, where tribal membership supersedes all else, a last refuge. The What is obscured by the Who.
That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
The last GOAT in Foxboro has left the building.Shmurgle?
I dunno man, don't think there's any Nigerian dwarf goats on the Pats' roster.
