So can, like, someone change the thread title.

Won't allow me to do it.

For those of you wondering, Reiss was speculating about McKenzie earlier today. That's what the thread title refers to.

i just think he was a victim of the fact Spikes is great as a 2 down linebacker and mayo plays all 3. For sub packages fletcher and guyton come in as they are better against the pass.

I really think he was drafter for spikes role and spikes just beat him out cause he is special.

Good luck ty

I'm totally bummed about McKenzie.

But a little stoked about Washington. He was a late round flyer/UDFA type I would have liked to see in training camp last spring. He was a starter on 'Bama's D-line opposite Deaderick.

Ok, I changed the thread title. Tell me how it looks -- tomorrow.

Looks FINE!!! A bit of confusion...still does NOT explain his abscence from Practice...

On edit: I'm glad McKenzie is staying AND stoked about Washington.

I'm glad McK is staying too. I still see him replacing Guyton in the rotation next season. For every one good play he makes (INT vs Cinci), GG seems to make a half-dozen bad ones (Gates TD in SD, RTP penalty vs Minn, etc.).

Here's one write-up on Washington:
Lorenzo Washington - 2010 Draft Tracker - SI.com

He seems to have the toolbox, but also seemed not to have used those tools as well as he prob. should have, esp. when considering that he played alongside Deaderick & Mt. Cody at Alabama. Also disappointing is his 40-time, which for somebody under 300lbs should be closer to 5.00; Deaderick, e.g., is almost 20lbs heavier but a good 10th-plus seconds faster.
As of now, Washington might be Just Another Guy to compete with Weston, Richard & Love as next year's 7th DLineman.
