That's b/c their OL coach, Alex Gibbs, used to coach the Broncos OL during Elway's days. They were notorious for those dirty chopblocks.

Chopblocks are illegal and WILL get called. The old 49ers used to cut on the backside of Inside Zone and seal off a cutback lane, but they would do it while the OL next to them was still working up to the next level. High-Low...effective but now illegal.

I'm sure the Falcons cut block on the backside still but can't if the DL is engaged. Cut blocks are legal and despite what some loafing DL would have you believe, not dirty either.

Gibbs retired last year from the NFL and hasn't coached the Falcons OL since 2004. The OL coach is now Paul Boudreau, who coached in NE in the late 90's.

Oh they are doing it. GB, NO, CAR, TEN and SF have filed complaints about this. What Tuck is expressing is just so the zebras watch. Explain how so many teams are making this up ?

It may happen from time to time due to the technique but it can't be as pervasive as you are making it sound. The refs would be warned about it and the league office reviews every game thoroughly for missed calls etc. Even if they weren't public about it you can bet that the refs would be told to make sure it doesn't happen.

Well no Im not saying they do it every play. But when NO, tuck, GB, and the teams I mentioned all have voiced concerns, it seems silly to think all of these teams are making it up. So, In my logical mind, it is happening.

The Giants have the cleanest O-Line in the league!

lol, yeah, I hear they apologize after ever hit. AP accused our D of being dirty, and with the way GW plays I wasn't surprised. But, then RB Turner on the falcons said it wasn't true. Which was a shocker. But I think we push the edge a bit.
